Peroxide is ok as a mouth rinse, just don't swallow it. My dentist has recomended this for years for healthy gums. Also had me brushing with a baking soda/peroxide mixture. This reversed my bleeding gums, and he says kept me from having to have many treatments if it had evolved into gum disease. Also said to pour peroxide on my toothbrush once a week to kill bacteria and germs on it !

You can use peroxide for a mouth rinse diluted but I doubt it will whiten your teeth. Yes it is harmful to swallow even small amounts of full strength preoxide so why risk it. Get a tooth whitening toothpaste or mouth wash to be safe.

I used to use hydrogen peroxide as a mouth rinse, but I heard it isn't good for ur gums cus it dries them out.
Using it for 2 weeks isn't a long time though--I used it longer than that and my gums were fine. I don't use it anymore though--now I use Crest Pro Health rinse.
If u swallow a small amount, it shouldn't be a problem... dunno how much to swallow is too much.

yes it okay to use from time to time. you have to be careful not to swallow any. if used often and can start to eat the enamel off of your teeth. however if used properly it can help to whiten your teeth and fight bacteria in your month and on your tongue.
