You CAN get your tongue pierced when you have braces.

Just make sure you take GOOD CARE of that tongue ring! You don't want to get any nasty infections and all the sudden your tongue is all nasty.

Have fun eating spaghetti with a tongue ring. LOL

My opinion, I'd wait till after the braces came off for a tongue ring.

Yes you can get your tongue pierced when you have braces or will be getting them. Neither has anything to do with the other so go ahead if this is what you want to do.

I would not recommend having them at the same time...but check with your orthodontist for factual info on any negative issues that the piercing could cause while having the braces...is there any chance they could get caught on one another or the piercing caught in your rubber bands if your braces require you to use them?

Yes you can but with braces and piercings you will have to watch for infection, and additional gum swelling. This may not seem to bad but even ordinary tounge swelling after a piercing can get infected and cause perminent and painful damage. Don't do it if you have elastics, or additional devices present in your mouth... and never have it in when you have you check up apointment. It may be removed... the painful way.

You can't get it pierced with braces, but before braces, possibly. It wouldn't be a very good idea, though.

Ouch. Even with the smallest gauge piercing, I can only imagine the consistent clicking of metal on metal.

It is best to ask your orthodontist this question. Tongue piercing can be very painful and can be the cuase of many mouth infections...so be careful about this decision.

arent you worried that maybe the ring will get stuck on the braces and cause a huge painful hole in your throat?

Good Luck with that!
