I ate a hard candy last night at 10:00 and cracked a back tooth. It's the side, but pretty big. My dentist is not in her office and the voice mail is full. If I have to wait to Monday what are the problems?

brush your teeth really good.. then go to walmart and get this lil thing called dent temp.. it hardens in the area.. and allows you to eat and drink without hurting til you do get to the dentist.. it helped me over the holiday break til i could get it taken care of.. its only 3 bucks.. sucks but so does a big hole in your mouth..

Be at her office before her first patient arrives and you will have a better chance of being seen. The dentists usually get there early, so she may take you back.
The tooth was probably going to chip/break anyway. She may be able to crown it, but it may need to be extracted. Only she can tell you.
Good luck!

The only problem is that the jagged edges might cut your cheek or tongue. You will need a filling or a crown though. If it hurts, you can go the drugstore and get a kit that contains oil of cloves to deaden the pain.

As long as you are not in any pain you should be fine. Try not eating on the side any more and keep it clean.
