You can go to the ER or try to contact the oral surgeon. Check the Yellow Pages to see if there is an emergency dental clinic in your area as well. If all else fails check into the ER. Good luck!

You can try the ER...But, they will just prescribe you pain pills and tell you to see a dentist. If you do that I would strongly consider an 'after hours' or 'emergency' clinic. They are much cheaper than the hospital..and a LOT less waiting. There are some hospitals that have an Oral Surgery dept. but there may not be a dentist avail. to do extractions there. Some oral surgeons are usually on call for facial trauma. The antibiotics should be helping a little by now. (will lessen pressure from infection) That usually causes pain. Try to call a diff. dental office if you can find one open and tell them you are in pain from impacted wisdom teeth. They may be able refer you to an oral surgeon that can take you. Most are prob. closed for holiday though. Oh...Do Not place any pills directly on top of your gums. They will only cause a chemical burn and more pain. Hope you feel better!

You can always go the the Emergency Room, in your area, they can prescribe pain medication, and antiboitics, also they always have an oral surgeon on call. Most hospitals have a program for people without insurance. So you will be able to apply for help.

Go the emergency room if it really hurts that bad. They can probably give you something stronger for the pain until next week. If you don't, it might get worse over the weekend and get infected or something. I'd go to the emergency now!

Ask friends for the names of their dentists (good referrals), call the offices and ask them who they recommend for an oral surgeon. Call their offices until you can find one who is open and can extract them. Make sure you tell them you are in extreme pain, can't get in the place your DDS recommended and the prescription isn't helping. Any oral surgeon office can extract. If you can't get in anywhere go to ER and it helps if you can find one that has a dental department.

I know exactly what you are going through as all my wisdom teeth were impacted too. Apart from painkillers there isn't much you can do. You could try chewing a clove, it does work a little but the taste is grim.

Good luck with the op ( I bet you cant wait ), you have all my sympathy!

Emergency Room or Urgent Care.

Anbesol, or Orajel will artwork nicely, yet you would possibly want to squeeze it immediately onto the bottom of tooth (on the gumline), or if its a molar..squeeze it into the middle of the biting floor of tooth. this may numb down the discomfort somewhat and receives you through until eventually you may both see or call your dentist. you may also try putting an uncoated aspirin between your teeth and chew down gently onto it. i'm not precisely particular HOW that works, yet its worked for me in a restore. solid success, mama!

My dad once had a really bad toothache. He took a swig of tequila and held it to the side where his tooth hurt. Worked like magic. The pain never came back.
