hello,

your wisdom teeth are a set of molars on your top and bottom teeth. Most people have a total of four. one on each side of the top and bottom of the mouth. Wisdom teeth are commonly removed when they are impacted ( growing sideways), crowding teeth, or causing you extreme pain. If you have impacted wisdom teeth they may be growing sideways in your jaw so you would not see them at all. or they could also be trying to break through the gum line and havent yet. I would reccomend seeing your dentist for x-rays and if indeed you have wisdom teeth then he will probably reccomend you to an oral surgeon for a counsultation.

Ok, you are about the age when "wisdom" teeth grow in. They are located in the way back of the mouth. They grow slowly, and painfully. You may not be able to have them, because your mouth is to croweded. If they grow in wrong, you will need IMMEADIATLY to get them pulled, as this can cause permanent problems in the mouth. Even if they do not look like it, an X-Ray tells all. Go to your dentist, get an x-ray from them, he/she will tell you what happens. You can not really tell by looking in a mirror. They aren't grown in very much probably, and not fully grown so it is not able to be seen from the surface.

Your dentist must take x-rays to determine if your mouth can accept the growth of the wisdom teeth.

The problem with wisdom teeth is that they are surrounded by a pocket of acid that can eat into the back molar as they emerge. They also crowd the existing teeth as they come in.

In any event, your dentist will be able to tell you where you stand after x-rays.

That all depends on how they are growing.
I waited as long as I could before having mine removed.
My wisdom teeth were growing sideways, not up, and it was causing my teeth to become crooked. Two of my teeth were completely on their sides inside the gum and causing pain. Leaving them in would have caused major problems and ended up in braces for me.

If you're worried, ask your dentist. And X-Ray can tell you what's going on. I waited until I was in my 20's before deciding it wasn't worth the health problems, or pain, for me.

Talk to your parents also.

Depends on your jaw size, people who have narrow jaws will not grow wisdom teeth (they have 28 teeth).

Most people with normal jaw size will eventually have these last 4 come out.

This is mother nature's design, do not treat it as a problem. Let it come out naturally.

Never mind x-ray, trust your maker. It got it right always when it comes to differentiations.

Don't pull them out, let them work for you.

you're a little young but maybe that's what it is...more like 17 or so...they get impacted which means under the gums,.most people get them extracted before they cut thru the gum by an oral surgeon so if you have insurance tell your folks to take you...if not, save about 1000 bucks or more to fix this problem.
