I heard that laser surgery can now treat longsightedness. Thing is as my eyes must obviously be getting worse hence needing new glasses, what happens after the surgery, do i still need glasses after a few years or not? Also my brothers mate said you can treat yourself by getting a cd walkman wiring it up to double the voltage and stare into the lens thing. frightened to try it as may hurt! Advise (sensible only)

is it possible that i have arthritis? i did have growing pains since i was around 8... but then the pain was just on one knee, but as time drew on, there was pain in both knees... and now sometime my elbows... whats wrong?

I just recentley started a new weight lifting regemin, but stopped cause I am planning on getting pregnant within the next few months... I am afraid if I continue, than I will see great results, but have to finish when I get pregnant. Does anyone know if it is ok to lift weights while your pregnant...Thank you..

My husband went to the doctor today and his blood pressure was 280 over 175. How dangerous is that? He said the doc wanted him to go to the hospital, but he refused. So he got 2 prescriptions instead... Seems to me that's pretty high... When I was pregnant, my blood pressure shot up to 165 over 100 and my doc was VERY concerned.

I am looking to lose about anywhere from 25-40 pounds. I am also hoping to lose it around my legs, thighs, stomach, and arms... pretty much all over. I am not looking to starve or diet. I am a child care provider and have in my care a 15 month old girl who just recently had a scope of her bronchial tube... they found a portion just before it branches the lungs that collapses as she breathes... she has been sick since she was born with asthma/bronchitis like sypmtoms.... the testing is ongoing and the mother (beside herself with stress over this) doesn't know much about her condition as of yet, but I would like to study up on this does anyone have a name for it??
I am well trained in CPR and First Aide and can handle an emergency situation if I should need to.... but I want to learn all I can about her condition.... thanks

im 19 years old
I had to poop really bad the other day when i was walking.
i kept it in.
I got home. couldnt poop any more.
woke up the next morning and i feel like i have to poop but nothing comes out.
So this morning i tried pooing.
It hurt really bad, only like one or two little terd things came out. But i can feel like theres something big inside ( stool )
Is there anything you can suggest.
Or should i go see my doctor?

I dont want this to become something serious.
Please respond asap as it hurts

Well ive always been really worried about taking medicines ever since i can remember, i always think the side affects will harm me, today my mental health doctor prescribed me 50mg trazodone for me to take with a little food, at night,
will this hurt me in any way?
has anyone ever took it?
keep in mind im 14, and its supposed to help with my nightly panic attacks and panic disorder.

I have nothing in the house that is stimulating enough to do. I am getting depressed. Does anyone have suggestions of where I can go in the day to be stimulated mentally. I am feeling desperate. I walk very slow with a cane and I need to use a wheel chair if I have to go long distances. I have a walker but I can't go too far with it. I am 48 years old female. Thanks for any advice.

I'm a naturally tiny person and i've always been this way but latley i've been eating a lot more than usual, not because i'm actually hungry it's just a desire.
My body is still tiny but my stomach is WAYYY BIGGG!
Even my best friend told me that i was getting fat in the stomach. I can't even wear my AEROPOSTALE shirts anymore!!!! ALL my jeans have creases in them wear my stomach hangs over!!

How can i conrol my desires to eat?
What can i do instead> Distraction? Someting?
What can i do to get my stomach back to normal?

I was dishwashing at home and a knife i was washing slipped out of my hand as i went to catch it the blade landed pointing straight down into my thumb. It didn't go deep and didn't bleed much either. I've stabbed or cut or slashed myself accidentally a lot, and the weird thing about this one was it felt more of a burning sensation. For the past 2 or 3 days my thumb has been sore when folding over itself and stretching it out too. The knife landed on the palm-side of the middle joint, and when i push down on it it's still pretty sore. I'm wondering what the knife hit when it went in (Not paranoid or anything more curious) Is there a tendon placed there? or maybe the knife scratched the bone..I'm not sure. Anyone know? And please no obvious answers :P educated guesses are ok....As long as they are educated.

I had a cavitivy on the side of my top molar #3, i've had it for the last year or so. I had just planned to get a root canal done on it Nov 24, but two days ago part of it broke while i was eating candy. Now 1/4 of my tooth on the inside is missing and you can just see a black hole. I asked Dr. Wei (root canal specialist) and he said mabye it can be saved with a root canal and with some build up work, post/core, or crown lengthing. I want Dr. Wei to do my root canal he's really good at saving teeth but he's going out of town and cannot get me in. I have heart failure and I'm not sure if I'm in danger of just sitting around with this whole in my tooth with the decay exposed. I was told that the decay has been there for a long time, and just because my tooth broke I'm not in any more danger. I have been put on antibotics to protect my heart until i can be seen. Should I wait for MY root canal doctor to come back in a week, or should I go to his collegue and get this problem taken care of

I am 22 years old. For a couple of months I have had numbness, pain (lots of it), and pins and needles feeling in my hands, wrists, and arms. All of my fingers or half or one will hurt and/or feel pain or pins and needles. Sometimes the pain occurs at the same time in as the other or only on one. Sometimes the pain feels like a band tightly wrapped around the arm. Sometimes I get a creepy, crawly feeling on the same spot on the middle back. I get stabbing pains in my toes.

I have been constipated and have been doing careless things at work. Last night at work I left my till open and walked away, didn't realizing it till my manager remarked on it. I have been having bad headaches and nasuea.

I have an appointment with a neurologist on Monday. This whole time has been debilitating for I am no longer able to do my former job. I am on light duty. Could it be a pinched nerve in my wrist? Does anyone have any suggestions on what this all could be?
