One of them is reducing glycemic load. What does it mean by reducing it and why would you want this to happen?

Some other treatments are:
-increase insulin secretion
-increase sensitivity to insulin
-enhance glucose metabolism in cells
-etc....

I'm 14 years old, but my parents think I tell lies about my health for "attention". I don't know why, but they've never even checked to see if any of my "Tall tales" were true or not, and it's came back to bite them.

What can I do without telling my parents "I think I have diabetes" to get tested?

When my husband first was diagnosed with diabetes about a year ago- the doc put him on STARLIX- he was doing really well with his levels- and the last few weeks, diet has not changed- his levels are not below 200- and this morning it hit 300. He cannot exercise due to being disabled from injuries at work- however he was not exercising a year ago either.

I have been urinating frequently and have vaginal burning. I went to a doctor on December 10 and my urine was tested but it was clean. There was blood in my urine and the doctor said it was due to me just having my period the week before. I was given medication for the frequent urination and for yeast infection (vaginal burning) but I still continued to urinate frequently and was still experiencing vaginal burning.

I went back the following week (December 17) and the doctor retested my urine and again it was clean. I was also re-examined for the yeast infection but I didn't have one again. The doctor also said that the burning and frequent urination also can be STDs (Chlamydia and Gonohrrhea), but I got tested in October and the tests were clean (negative). The doctor gave me another medication for the frequent urination, which I took.

I got my period today and I am usually sick a week or more before I get it. So I was urinating frequently from last week (even though I was taking the medication for frequent urination) and as of today I'm urinating more. I usually urinate often while I have my period but never before. The vaginal burning (most likely yeast infection) came back on Thursday and has increased.

Is this frequent urination and vagnal burning just associated with my period or can it be something else? Also I've been really thirsty often and feeling really hungry and eating often. Everyone is different but are these just normal things that go along with a period?

All the things I mentioned above are also linked to Diabetes. I had my blood suagr tested in October and it was 93. I did it again in November and it was 84. Is it possible for me to contract diabetes now in December since I'm experiencing all its symptoms? Also, is it possible for me to have an STD when I got tested in October and the results were negative, and I haven't been sexually active in a year? I really need to know what I should do because I'm concerned about my health.

Thanks to anyone who answers. I really appreciate it.

This happend to my father, when that happend I walked him back to his bedroom. I checked his blood sugar and it was at 316, I checked it a second time, it was 300. I assumed the reading accurate, so I gave him 7units of insulin. Is it normal to have the syptoms I described for having his blood sugar so high? Please let me know, thank you so much.

Anyone that takes this, do you have anxiety and ulcer problems? Also is this a calcium channel blocker or beta blocker or neither? I know it is an ACE Inhibitor, is this separate from the blockers?

i am 16 years old and am fairly slim. I have quite a balanced diet but am supposidly drinking too much water according to my mum. I have a drink and then 10 mins later i need the loo and then im thirsty again it doesn't stop. My mouth is also generally dry and get tired quite easily. I have sight problems (is this linked?) and can get moody with people over really small things (this however may just be me being a teenager) do these signs suggest diabetes? i didn't think that i was drinking too much water how much is too much? thanks.

He's 43 and he was just diagnosed last year. He's changed his diet and he excercises more and he seems to be contolling it, but everytime I see him he has a Miller Lite in his hand or some other kind of beer. I don't know much about diabetes but i'm trying to get better educated since a family member now has it. We have no family history of it and he's the first one in our family to get it. I'm just wondering would drinking affect his diabetes? I love my Uncle and want him around for many years to come!

im 21, female, in good health, eat well, etc. but lately i've been feeling very fatigued ( it's relieved by eating something, but the crappy feeling comes back an hour or so later), very bloated, like my metabolism isnt working, and recently a little patch of dark skin appeared in my arm pit...does this sound like insulin resistance or am i crazy? ive been to a gyno (problems with irregular menstruation, put me on the pill...), an endocrinologist and my regular dr. and none of them even mentioned it as a possibility (didnt tell them about the skin thing, didnt think it was related until now)...should i ask for a fasting blood glucose test? what else can i do? i really feel like something is wrong with my body!

I am not a diabetic and thank God I am not but I am so confused on this because I thought diabetes was kind of like a blood disorder or something like that, doing research I found that over 5 great actors/actresses died from complications of diabetes including one of my favorites Mabel King who played Evilene on the Wiz and then Esther Rolle from Good times but what I didn't know was that they were amputees. I mean what causes them to go blind and lose their arms and legs and stuff like that if diabetes only effects the amount of sugar and insulin you have in your system
