If you are in the Uk, go to the DWP website and follow the links to the new Disability Discrimination Act. The law changed last year nad employers have to accomodate disabled employees and make whatever changes and adaptions that are needed to to assist that person.

Incidently, you can always make an appointment with a Disability Employment Advisor at your local job centre Plus, they will be able to assist you.

Good luck xx

It is easy for an employer to ignore a verbal request such as yours, it is far better to put these sort of requests in writing, but you must ensure you have the correct information within the letter to ensure that your employer reacts to your request, i would suggest a visit to the citizens advice, they are a font of good knowledge in such matters and will have contacts regarding disabilities and your rights as an employee, and am sure will assist you in putting together a letter that will ensure your request is treated with the desired haste.

You also have basic rights as an employee regarding breaks, but i am sure your disability will give further weight to your request.

I have attached two links below that may be of help to you and wish you the best of luck in your quest

Let your doctor write it. My doctors wrote letters for me and had a better influence alone that I would trying to talk my way into those. Hey I'm a glib talker - that's saying a lot if a letter can have its way faster than I can talk myself into something.

you give your employer the doctors note and let him see it and then he can come to you and talk. yep, the stress is also something else that is being one of the issues i am sure. they wont' ignore you long cause its against the law to ignore you for this.

get your doctor to write to your employer to explain the situation ...they must accommodate your request as much as possible ...disability act covers this.
