I was recently diagnosed with alopecia areata and have had steroid injection in scalp. Last night i discovered that my scalp seems to be indented right at affected spot. Can the alopecia be causing tissue death? If so what are treatments for this?

i am 7 mos out of back surgery for rupture at L4 L5...the pain im having is a result of lots of scar tissue wrapping around the nerve root as well as other places in the leg that was most affected. Is there anything i can do to get rid of scar tissue or at least significantly lessen its effects on me?

Im terrified of hsv1 and hsv2, ive never had an std in my life. I know its incredibly shallow to dump someone for having cold sores but I keep thinking about the risk of genital infection. Ive been intimate with him and now Im worried not only about infection - but about what to do. Will he understand if I break up with him! Does doing that make me a bad person? Are any of you dating a person with cold sores - have you been infected by them?

My poor Mum suffers from coldsores and has just developed 3 painful ones at once!

Does anybody out there have any tried and true remedies that she can try for getting rid of them fast? I have her on L-Lysine vitamin tabs at the moment but they're more of a long term treatment..

My daughter's need all there dad, not half. I realize now the disease has controlled my life for 20 year's or more. Does anyone know of daily event's? Will i have access to a pc or phone? Besides cloth's what can I take with me. I'm so ready for this! I want to be prepared for the new me and future.

So, i've been on accutane for almost 4 months now. My time on it has been the worst 4 months of my life, period. In the first two weeks I had severe back pain then that faded away after a few weeks. When I went in at 3 months I had beyond severe joint pain, and I still have now after cutting dosage in half, I have to take ibprofen 3 times a day, I cannot even slowly jog and it hurts when i walk sometimes. Its also causing me to miss a PE class next semester, which im slightly worrried about. Anyways, after 3 weeks on accutane (1st 2 weeks half dosage), my face was smooth and all the acne from what I can tell went away and I have have dark red purple scars all over my face, my face has not changed from this in over 3 months. Is accutane going to clear up these scars because it is yet to help, and is the fact that im doing half dosage and probably will be doing 1/4 dosage soon going to screw up results, because all i'm thinking is..**** accutane this is screwing up my life.

WOW! i ask to many questions... now to the question.

I've been coughing a lot, so my throat is raw and sore. When i cough gooey stuff/phlegm comes up and it also taste like blood (proley cuz my throat is raw). Also my chest hurts really bad! It feels like a raw throat kinda... its hard to describe. It really hurts when i cough, and it hurts when i breath.
When i swallow like just like swallowing spit or whatever i feel crap in my throat. Also it feels like my chest is being pressed on.

I was sent home and told to take aspirin for a couple of days and thats it, but the ER doc was in a hurry and didnt tell me what causes Pluerisy, can this ever become a serious thing? i am a 20yr old female from wisconsin.

I've taken about 10 Ibuprofens between today and yesterday, and 6 Energy Drinks in both days.

And the bottom of my eyes became really red, like not bloodshot but all red, I've been really cold, tired, weak, had blue and purple skin, around my eye, and I have what seems to be discoloration underneath my fingernail.

So I looked up the symtoms on WebMD

and all of them fit endocarditis which comes from infection of heart's inner lining, and endocarditisis linked to kidney, and liver problems.
Could the habit of having to much Ibuprofen, and so much caffiene effected me so I'd devolp
endocarditis?

Hubby won't go to doctors/I think he should. He refuses to go.

Symptoms: Can't shake flu symptoms..been going on for about three months now, extremely tired, has that foul breath you get when you have stomach or organ problems (my mother died of cancer-always had that foul sick smell on her breath) well he has it too, has for weeks and its not going away, Fever's off an on ever few days, cough won't go away either.

I am sure it can be anything any guess from those on here as where to start..I need something to shock him to go to the doctors...apparently...dealthly illness isn't getting his attention.

Ok lately for the past few months Ive noticed that my feet are cold a lot, and sometimes my body is perfectly warm, but my feet are still freezing. Sometimes they get numb too. Also when I dont eat for very long periods of time I get really shaky and feel very tired, like I'm hypoglycemic. Coffee also makes me shaky and very hungry unless I eat a big meal before I drink it. I am very tired in the evening when I don't think I should be. I get headaches a lot. And even when my bladder isnt completely full I feel like i have to pee a lot, so drinking a lot of water makes me very uncomfortable. I also a lot of times feel very cold when it's not even that cold in a room. Any one know what the problem could be?

i have very dry skin ever since i woke up 3 days ago. i left this clean and clear soap on my face overnight (i thought it would make my skin look good) and ever since then down by chin my skin was red, blotchy, and rough. does any one no how to cure my dry skin? ive tried to get a towel and wet my face but then it keeps drying up!

I have a headache just about every day and they are bad...it hurts in my forehead, temples, and on my cheeks. My nose also feels a little stuffy. I have really bad allergies and recently switched from Claritin to Zyrtec due to cost, but thank goodness Zyrtec is going OTC soon so I can switch back to it. I am allergic to trees, dust mites, and mold. I have two dogs and a cat, I've never tested allergic to animals but do you think I've developed an allergy to my pets?? I just don't know why these headaches/allergies are getting so bad.

I'm a pretty healthy gal (age 30), can run 1 hour without breaking a sweat, and have no known health problems (or history thereof). The one thing that bugs me lately are my knees -- they're stiff and sore during the winter and I get these weird tiny black-purple bruises (1cm) along the kneecap that don't hurt. I've heard leukemia does that to people, but again, I feel pretty healthy. Any clues? My doctors can't explain it and tell me not to worry. I don't trust one of them because he seriously misdiagnosed a friend whose health is now screwed for life.
