Im terrified of hsv1 and hsv2, ive never had an std in my life. I know its incredibly shallow to dump someone for having cold sores but I keep thinking about the risk of genital infection. Ive been intimate with him and now Im worried not only about infection - but about what to do. Will he understand if I break up with him! Does doing that make me a bad person? Are any of you dating a person with cold sores - have you been infected by them?

If there's a blood mucus stuck on a sink drain. And if you wash you're hands on that same sink, and you happen to have a very little cut on your hand (near your knuckels) Is there anyway that you might get infected with HIV by the blood mucus on the sink drain? The reason I ask this is because since when the water comes down from the faucet and it hits the sink, it usually splashes and throws little water drops upwards. So it possible to get infected that way, even if you don't touch the blood mucus with your hands? Thanks.

My Father was always there for us as kids and he split with my Mom when I was 17. He owned his own construction company and all but ended up living on the streets after leaving us. When he decided he didn't want to live he tried to OD on Heroin and used someone elses needle and contracted HIV. When he told me, I didn't know how to feel or who to turn to. My girl friend gets cold sores once or twice a year during the winter which has led us to believe that she has oral herpes. We've been dating and kissing for over a year and I have never gotten a cold sore or shown signs of it. However about a month ago I got a weird canker type sore on the inside of my bottom lip that really hurt. I'm pretty sure I've had canker sores before and this was something different. It was about the size of a small bead and it was white and inflamed. It went away after about 5 days and I haven't had one since. I've heard many different opinions on whether you can get cold sores inside your mouth. Could this have been a cold sore? I would like to find out before considering oral sex with my girlfriend because I would not like her to get genital herpes.
