I have HPV and I want to be completely honest about this with a man, but when do I tell him? I dont want to do it too soon and scare him (I got scared to death when I found out), but i dont want to wait too long and make him feel like I was hiding it. What to do, what to do...

I already know I should tell him, but when? On the first date? After a month? When?

You don't have to tell him unless you think you'll be sexually active. That includes oral sex becasue it can be transmitted that way also. Chances are he already has it too if he's been sexually avtive before.... that is how common it is.

But if you plan on having intercourse with this man I'm sure he would appreciate it if you told him. Also if you're in love, then why should it matter? If he likes you enough he'll stick around. Truthfully guys are such horny bastards he probably won't care!

Explain to him that you'll seek treatment and are willing to use condoms. Also if it's the genital warts type.... you can get those sergically removed so he won't get them. He may still get the virus on the cellular level, but chances are he wont get the warts. Garlic pills and zinc pills also work to supress the virus, and tea tree oil can remove warts over time when directly applied to the skin.

If it's the cervical cancer type, he doesn't have to worry. It does absolutely nothing to the male, except allow him to pass it on to another woman.

I hope everything works out and just know you are not alone!

if u feel like your hidding something from him its better that he should know so that u can be honnest with eachother from the start. u should tell him maybe the second or third date but preferably before u have sex or get to serious about him. if he loves u for the way u are an std shouldn't matter. but you should definatly tell him if u have an std because u could end up passing it on and he might get a little mad that u didn't tell him because some stds are permanent and not curable.

I have herpes and find that it is easier to get material on the subject so when you tell him he has something besides your word to go on...I always like to get it out of the way as soon as possible...that way if he can't handle it..I don't get too hurt.

And remember you were scared...he may need some time too. Tell him that you understand what he may be feeling and to feel free to ask any questions...show that you have nothing to hide and that you truley care about his well being.
