Where do they do these things and is it just a simple blood test?

I don't have a g/f right now but I'm a virgin and would like to protect myself.

First off, you should be open and honest in any possible sexual relationship you are planning to be in. Ask if she has been tested, be open and honest with her that you think you both should be tested before going through with anything; not just for your safety but for hers as well.
Of course, this might be different if you are just randomly hooking up with girls.

Secondly, Blood tests are run from HIV and Syphilis.
Chlamydia, Gonorrhea are either urine or swab tests (done during pap exam).
If you are concerned about HPV or HSV-1/HSV-2, you will need to request this specific tests because they are not normally run during a regular exam. A pap exam does not always check for HPV. Most doctors don't like to do blood tests for HSV-1/HSV-2 unless there is physcial evidence (sores/lesions) that you have it.
HPV is done during the pap exam and again, if you don't have an active outbreak of HSV-1/HSV-2 then it would have to be done through a blood test.
If you are worried about an infection in the throat like Gonorrhea, you have to request a throat culture. Chlamydia is considered rare to have in the throat so they won't really do a throat culture for that.

Good for you to think about protection! Any sexual health clinic, doctors, family planning would do it.
It's not just a simple blood test, there is also a swab. It can take a few weeks before the results, so in the mean time use condoms.

they can do a blood test but not all stds are included in a blood test so there should be a swab test taken as well. u can get one done at a doctors office or planned parenthood or free clinic. if u tell your girlfriend that u may have something that your worried about her getting, and suggest that she get tested that might do it. get to know who your partners are and stay committed to them and try to get the person your with to be committed as well. this way if u don't sleep with unknown people or have one night flings u will have less of a chance of passing or getting an std. there are also female condoms available and dental dams u should think about buying those.

This is the best way to protect your virginity, ask a girl to take the test.

You and your girlfriend could go to your local free clinic or to the local hospital. They will gladly perform the neccesary tests.

I say to you though-Stay a virgin until you are married. Its not worth going through the STD's and the pregnancies. Just save yourself for your wife.

That is asking for trouble. She will be offended for sure but you do have a right with all the diseases out there.

There are a LOT of people who have a disease so be careful.

You'd have to talk to her about going to the doctors.

Get a GF first lol then worry.

Why worry about winter tires? when you got no car.
