Okay, I got MRSA this last summer and it got so bad I wound up getting a fever of 106 (fevers are not ALWAYS present with MRSA), and went to the emergency room and they could not get my fever down for three days, until my "abcess" had this huge dark circle around it that got to be the size of a basketball, and they ordered me to have surgury to clean it out because it was to big for them to just drain. You can't just go to the doctor and get an antibiotic and it will go away because it is resistant to most antibiotics. You have to go to the doctor to continuisly have it drained until it is healed up. Also...they can test it to let you know if it is MRSA or not. Just be careful because if it is MRSA, it is a serious thing and can be contagious to others. I would definatly get it checked out to be safe, because if it doesn't get better, it will only get worse...and trust me....I was very sick in the hospital because of this. Please get it checked out. Here is a website that my dad sent to me when I got home from the hospital that explains it a little...I know it's kinda scary, but just take care of it early and you'll be fine.

it is entirely possible that it is a staph infection, but probably not MRSA, MRSA doesn't go away and come back, it just gets worse. Talk to your doctor about a course of antibiotics.
