well i think i have BV and im going to get it checked out soon. But my boyfriend says it wont go away i will always have that scent. is that true because i really need to know . i am only 18 and i cry about it alot so i would really apperciate it if some one could answer my question.Thank you

Yes of course the smell goes away! Its not a "Scar" You can get a antibiotic like Flagyl which needs to be taken for 7-10 days CONSISTANTLY and it will be gone! DO NOT HAVE SEX while you are on the medication because it will take a longer period of time to clear the infection. Its the bacteria that causes the smell and it will go away once you are cured. Do not cry over something like this, it is not really a big deal. You will be fine.

If your BV is cure you will still have the scent. The bacteria scars the walls and will leave the benign cells that will never go away. This scaring of the tissue will always give off that rotten egg sent. There is meds that you can get from your doctor that can cover up the smell but it only works for a short time.
