This will prbably sound stupid but... if my partner and I had unprotected sex sevral times, on the better side of 10 times, not including oral before I found out there is a slim chance of him having an STD, what are the chances of me getting it? 1. the chance of him having one is very slim, but its still there and that concerns me 2. I plan to get tested and ask the nurse this same question, but he is refusing insisting he doesnt have one cuz the girl didnt have 1 (no he didnt cheat, we were sperated and I was tested before we were back together so I know if I have one now its form him) and 3. he is having problems getting and maintaining an erection and sex just isnt the same, I dont kno if it is pyhcological (that girl called him small down there, but hes not) mabey the fact he knew I fooled around with some1 else

Hi all. Would be nice to hear from some doctors. I live in a flat with a lot of people. Someone clogged the shower drain and I showered while standing in a pool of water which I am sure contained urine. Can I get HIV with this??? Now I dried off my feet and dried my buttock hole with the same wet towel. Can HIV enter me by doing this??

Please answer honestly.

About a week ago, I went in to urgent care because I thought I might have had a bladder infection (which I did), and to check up on a sore that had appeared in my genital region a couple of days prior to going in.

They swabbed the sore and just called me back saying I have herpes.

What I am confused about is the fact that I have only had sex with one person in my entire life. We've been dating for about 2.5 years, and were both virgins. I KNOW that he has never cheated on me, and I have never cheated on him.

So, if we have been in a monogomous relationship, how could I have gotten herpes?

The doctor (or nurse?) who talked to me said it was a possibility that I could have gotten it from a toilet seat... But from what I have read, that is VERY unlikely.

The only other thing that would make sense is if either of us had cold sores ever, but I don't think I have.

Is it possible I was misdiagnosed?

I had unprotected sex in a momgamous relationship about 12 years ago. My girlfriend at the time said she was clean and had only been with one other guy who was a virgin when they were together. I have not had unprotected sex since then.

What are the chances of me having an STD if I have no symptoms what so ever? By no symptoms I mean nothing. No bumps, burning, anything at all. I have no reason to believe I am anything but clean. I am getting tested next week just to make sure. I was just curious if it is possible to have anything without knowing it.

Can you go to your GP/doctors and get tested?
If you go to a clinic will they tell your mum?
What kind of questions will they ask?
And can someone please explaine to me what chlamidia is and what it does to you, and how you can get rid of it?

Thanks

I'm trying to understand the extent of the differences between the races in regard to the frequency of sexually transmitted disease. At this moment, I am not concerned with the social significance of those differences. I am asking only about their existence and, if they exist, about their magnitude.

It might be helpful to know the per capita rate ratios (Black to White) for infections with HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea and herpes. Does anyone with ready access to such data have these ratios at their fingertips? I'd like to familiarize myself with that information.

Also, it would be interesting to discover whether the per capita infection rate ratios observed in the United States are typical of similar ratios worldwide.

"GARDASIL is the only vaccine that may help guard against diseases that are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) Types 6, 11, 16, and 18"

Highlight the words above "may help".

OK, so say you have slept with more than one partner already, and currently you are in a monogamous relationship. Gardasil "protects" you from forms of HPV that you haven't come into contact with.

So if you are in a monogamous relationship and definitely know that no one is cheating in the relationship then what is the point in the vaccine? Chances are if you have come into contact with HPV from your current partner or previous partners then you already have it, hence the vaccine won't protect you.

Seriously it doesn't make sense to me. Sure it may protect if you have any partners from now on but if you are with "the one" (say for the rest of your life, or a very long time) then can't see how it matters.

Your opinion?

I don't understand what is going on I will be going to the gynocologist. I have only had oral sex and I've been tested for STDs which I have had none. I have not been tested for HIV not saying thats its a factor but when you see that warning sign on the back of the monistat that DOES NOT WORK.. it makes u second guess. Anyone have any ideas as to why I have a yeast infection that does not go away and I've had BV 4 times this year and recently I have gotten a UTI. This is depressing the hell out of me. I may also add that my partner of 2 years was tested hiv negative but i've had sex with other ppl since then and when i started getting BV/yeast infection it was the day after the sex encounter and it's never gone away
