There have been rare instances of congenital HPV (transmitted during birth). Usually it shows as lesions in the baby's throat. But this is simply not common.

If you are male and have never experienced symptoms, there's no way to tell if you have the infection. Not with current technology, anyway.

In general, all people need to use condoms for sexual contact (this includes coitus, anal sex and oral sex) unless they're trying to conceive. Also, keep pants on during dry sex. Condoms aren't perfect protection against HPV, but it's better than nothing.

The thing with HPV is that it sometimes have symptoms mainly warts and if warts are not present then there is usually no way to tell especially with males women can tell through pap test however there is nothing currently developed to test males unfortunately

theoretically yes you could. but most hospitals when they know the mom has it, and mom gives birth vaginally, will do a test for it. ask your mom if you were tested at birth. she may not remember, but if you were born in the 90's, you probably were. i wouldn't worry too much about your parents having it.
