Hi, first of all I don't plan on killing anybody.. lol no worries there.

Its a standing joke here at my work (jatech.ca) that our boss (fat asshole) will see his super-diabetic existence end to us running in with luke-warm sugar-water filled water guns ready to soak him down with sweet revenge (pun intended). Here in lies my question...

Is it possible to absorb enough sugar through the skin to kill a diabetic?

im 14 and im worried i have diabetes , i started to notice a few months well maybe even more than that i have it because i got off the bus one time and i felt really dizzy and my vision was very blurry i had to sit down on the floor because my vision was that bad this isnt the only thing. i got told by the doctors that ive got bacterial vagnosis but that has cleared up. i crave for sweets almost every day to me its like a drug, i go to the toilet alot and ive got thrush again and last but not least a sweat alot its kind of weird because i only sweat around my friends not my family. my mum booked an appointment for friday, and im worried if i bring up all of these things that happen to me, the doctor might tell me ive got diabetes.

I have type 1, and people ask me if mine is "BAD" enough that I have to inject insulin/use an insulin pump...but that is not "BAD" diabetes, just a different type in which you HAVE to take insulin (inhaled can also be done now). It is not that I have "let myself go" or have "had it so long". It is a different friggin' thing with similarities, the most obvious being the high blood sugar and potential problems. Why does the media pretend that type 2 is the only one?? I mean, I understand it is most prevalent, but you should have the type 2 also indicated where "diabetes" is printed, if that is the case.

I got a family member who self medicates with insulin. She needs it - how much is too much? She has blood sugar levels over 400 and struggles with depression. She seems to take 3 full shots a day. Is this normal or should I be concerned? She also has a heart condition and has had two strokes. How much insulin should she get? I dont know but I dont want to rock the boat if I am over-reacting.

I'm hearing this through certain people, and apparently they do, but the government wont do anything because they get so much money off of their patients.

True or False?

Diabetes has found it's way into our family, and the medical team and doctors are only GREAT about telling us all the things we CANNOT eat...but is there a list anywhere of the things that we CAN eat, that are "free" exchanges or OKAY anytime. The negative approach from the medical community is very disappointing and hard to find encouraging for helping my family. If anyone can offer some simple to follow ideas without having to go purchase a lot of books, I'd really appreciate it. We'd prefer to stay away from meats if possible--and fish, there are other health complications to consider including a transplanted organ, wo we concern ourselves with a program that will blend in with finely tuned heart health, as well. Thanks.

I don't have history of diabetes nor have family history of it. Recently during my annual check up, my hemoglobin a1c is high 6.7% and 6.8% done within 1 week, while my fasting sugar is normal 108. Am i diabetic? Or do i have metabolic syndrome? I am guessing that my doctor would want me to have glucose tolerace test. If my glucose tolerace test is normal, with high hga1c test, am i still diabetic?

My doc did a glucose tolerance test on me. She told me last thursday I "have diabetes". She said she will be referring me to a dietician. What else can I expect? Will I get to use one of those finger poking monitors? (I am in Canada)

Okay so I'm a type 1 diabetic and recently my doctor increased my insulin levels and most of the weight that i lose last year through exercise and dieting is starting to creep back on. I'm on a pretty low carb diet which is hard because low carb sometimes results in a low blood sugar. But i wanted to know, with regular exercise and this low carb diet, will i lose weight? Or am i just destined to be slightly chunky for the rest of my life. How does low carb work anyway? And i'm tired of people telling me to speak to a nutritionist and doctor, i have been calling both for about two week and both are apparently too busy to get back to me. I would really like some/ANY advice.

I think Im either getting diabetic or arthritis. My hands and feet are getting a numb tingling feeling now and my thumbs hurt from time to time. Just below my left thumb was a little swollen and itching this morning when I got up and when I go to sleep at night my right hand always falls asleep and goes numb. I dont have any insurance to go to the doctor so Im going to try a natural approach. Any suggestions?
