Everyone does not respond same but some of the more common symptoms are being more thirsty, urinate more, sometimes blurred vision, lose weight for no apparent reason, and/or tired. If suspect diabetes (and especially if relatives have), get checked IMMEDIATELY. It can be dangerous if untreated. Check local hospital or county health office as some will check for free. Do NOT wait to get checked.

For me the main symptom was the thirst that just wouldn't go away

•Increased thirst
• Going to the loo (for a wee) all the time – especially at night
• Extreme tiredness
• Weight loss
• Blurred vision
• Genital itching or regular episodes of thrush
• Slow healing of wounds

Elevated sugar in the blood. There is a device diabetics use to read the sugar count in their blood. Another symptom could be slow healing wounds. In some cultures who still use chamber pots, if ants swarm towards the accumulated pee in the pot, it means the pee has high sugar content. Seizures and loss of consciousness could also be an indicator of elevated sugar in the blood or a dramatic drop in the sugar count.

in all honesty, the only thing i noticed before i was diagnosed was that i had to get up in the night 2 ,3 or 4 times for a wee. i presumed that was the reason i was tired.
if you suspect you may be diabetic, ask at your gp to get some blood tests.
best to know and then it can be dealt with.
good luck buddy
