first of all he would try and get you to diet if you are heavy. did you know you can eliminate this if you diet so fast and keep it off and you could probably stop it from coming if you keep weight down and exercise all the time. if you don't then you get a thing to read your blood sugars and then you go and buy food you can eat. make sure you have ltos of fruit, veggies and salads only 3 oz meat at time when cooked its not much. you can stay away from rice and potatles and stuff like that good luck

He will want to get you regulated and get your Blood Sugars level. These two things are the same only if you treat them the same. He'll put you on a Diet and tell you sugar is not an option. What he won't tell you is all the Money he will be making off of you and that he might name his new boat after you. All things aside take his advise and get educated with the new experience of Diabetes. Keep records so you won't make the same mistake twice and you will have something to relate to your Doctor on your next visit. Good Luck

It depends. I went to the hospital for a week when I was very young while they got my insulin figured out and they taught my parents what needed to happen at home. Other doctors have an intensive session in their office that may last a couple of days. They'll teach you how to check your sugar levels and how to give shots. You'll learn all about what you need to eat and when. Read a book or look at websites online for some education so you can learn about what the condition means.

get a blood sugar machine and check regularly.at least every 6 hours if possible.check every 1/2 hour after meals.but only after talking to your doctor to see what your blood sugar levels are when normal.get fit.eat smart diebeties dont care if you like sugar but it doesnt like sugar.pizza's burgers, cheeses, all raise sugar levels.drain grease, boil cetain foods.do not stress do not stress do not stress, see the pattern?monitor your blood sugar levels and dont give up.if people are stressing you well family or not they are bad for you.if anyone around you acts like they dont care chances are they dont.find a good doctor.if one always wants you to take different pillsthat dont work for you either your not seeing the signs and dont tell the doc theres nothing they can do.but if you do see the pills aint working or makeing things worse and the doc refuses to change the pills or take them away, your dealing with a pill pusher.i know this is long but ive had to deal with this for 4 years all of this junk,my wifes a diebetic for 22 years.and trust me out of 6 doctors you'll find only one who cares for you.find a good doctor you like not who your family likes and trust.
