I have an open wound that refuses to completely heal. I have been driving in very heavy traffic every day to a hyperbaric treatment. I arrive al stressed out and my sugars are all out of wack( as in the high 200"s). The techs at the hospital tell me that stressors do not create problems with my sugars,,, is this true? I have checked my sugars before I drive and they check me before and after treatment. I have actually had a higher count after I arrive there than in the morning when I check my own, I don't think that there is a large discrepency between our two different meters. I need some factual input to show these techs one way or the other. Thank You

the woods yet, and they may take off his other leg soon. My grandpa had this and lived only a couple more years. My uncle is in his mid 50's. What are the chances of a recovery after this type of surgery?

Thanks

I am a type one diabetic and am trying to lose weight. I am on the pump. Ive been told a diet low in carbs is the way to go. I dont eat bread, sweets or anything. At the most, my carbs are from maybe a bowl of popcorn or fruits. My question is, will i still lose weight if i eat an apple or do i have to give up carbs completely? I also exercise everyday, so there shouldnt be any reason why i shouldnt lose weight right?

I am 12 weeks. I have been feeling very thirsty and having a dry mouth for a week. I have an appointment today with my OB/GYN. My questions are:
1- In addition to the dipstick urine test they do at each visit, what other tests can they order? Glucose tolerance test? What else?
2- Is it OK to fast for 8 hours like from 7 am to 3 pm? It is important to my scedulale to do the test today not next week. Is water allowed?

I always understood that the type 1/2 classification was based on other stuff such as whether symptoms first appeared in youth or old age.

But somebody where I work has told me that Type 2 DM is the same as Insulin Dependent DM.

This is actually relevant to my job and so a proper answer is important.

Can somebody help?

My partner has Type 1 diabetes (the insulin dependent -non lifestyle dependent sort) and we are planning on having a child. Is this hereditary and is there anything that can be done to stop or lower the chances of it being passed down?

I tested at 109 but my boyfriend tested at 317. We received a free blood glucose monitor in the mail as a free sample. Neither of us has been diagnosed with diabetes. What do these numbers mean and how to lower them, ,if needed.
