No, it's not dangerous at all if the eggshells were washed first. A little goofy, perhaps... but only dangerous if done with reckless abandon.

In deference to the other poster, I don't think you are dumb, I think it is a legitimate question. My husband is a diabetic also, I have never cooked eggs in this manner, but I have heard of other people doing so. I don't think it is dangerous because the egg is contained in the shell and cannot contaminate the potatoes and vice-verse. If he is suffering from stomach problems, and is a diabetic, I would suggest he go to see his physician. Diabetics are prone to many health problems and they do not have the leeway that others have to wait before the problem will cause detrimental damage. It may be acid reflux, or it could be more serious. I hope this helps. Thanks for this question.

Absolutely not.
Very few eggs actually contain the salmonella bacteria, and hard-boiling an egg would kill any bacteria that it contains. Perhaps it's possible that he has an allergy to eggs, in which case he should try abstaining from eating eggs to see if that is the cause of his stomach problems. Eating eggs does give some people a lot of gas, so that's worth considering.

Yes, eggs carry salmonella. Make sure your friend is getting the eggs completely done and that they are not being served undercooked. But chances are, I would think, is that hubby is getting sick from some other means.

No. If her husband is having stomach issues, he should really see a doctor to find out what is causing those issues.
