Well, I could find nothing about blindness and Splenda but there are studies showing that Aspartame (Nutra-Sweet) may have a connection. Splenda is a combination of sugar and chlorine molecules. (WTH chlorine?) Splenda seems to affect mostly the Thalmus gland and the immune system. Anyway, I'm giving you some websites that do have some cautions.
As for people thinking that the FDA is our friend let's remember for a moment that they are a government agency run by politicians! The director that approved Aspartame overrode a unanimous decision by his own board to ban it. In just a little over three months after his decision he was made vice president in charge of marketing for the Nutra-Sweet company (????????????). Oh ya! I trust the FDA they are such an ethical organization. I especially like the way they approve drugs and then we see lawsuits because those approved drugs are killing people!
Just some "food" for thought, Think for yourself and be proactive in your health decisions!

I do not know if it causes blindness- but it can cause someone not to be able to walk- my husband started using Splenda- and one day he could not get out of bed- thought nothing much of it, because he has a bad back- so he went to his chiropractor. When he was there the doc told him, there was nothing he could do for him, this time- so he came home and asked me for a ice tea with splenda in it- so I decided to go on-line- and guess what there are documented evidence that it can cause MS symptoms where someone out of the blue cannot walk. He went off splenda and other artificial sweeteners and within a couple weeks is ok. Be careful- and just because FDA approves something does not make it safe-

Nutrasweet can cause blindness if taken in very large quantities.
Sweet n Low was reported to have caused cancer, again if take in very large quantities.
The FDA has, of course, conducted studies on Splenda. Many of the studies were designed to identify possible toxic effects including carcinogenic, reproductive and neurological effects. No such effects were found, and FDA's approval is based on the finding that sucralose is safe for human consumption. They of course also think Nutrasweet and Sweet n Low are safe too, so take that recommendation for what it's worth.

It's a very old myth that masturbation causes blindness, and it was thought that masturbation was harmful about 100 years ago, and it doesn't affect eyesight. If it actually caused blindness, then most of the men in the world would be walking around with dark glasses, white canes and guide dogs.

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/N6U9X
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

I don't know about that but I listened to a seminar given by a Chiopractor who said Splenda is worse for you than regular cane sugar.

Any aspartame sweetener can cause strokes, siezures, heart attacks. Blindness - I dont know. Aspartame is an exito-toxin that literally accelerates the neurons in your brain to death.
Use sugar instead dude.
