I just recentley started a new weight lifting regemin, but stopped cause I am planning on getting pregnant within the next few months... I am afraid if I continue, than I will see great results, but have to finish when I get pregnant. Does anyone know if it is ok to lift weights while your pregnant...Thank you..

the better shape that you are in now and before you get pregnant the easier it will be to lose the pregnancy weight.

strength training is not recommended for all women during pregnancy. so you need to take to your Dr to find out if it's appropriate for you

Most doctors advise against strenuous workouts and lifting more than 20 lbs. It's still possible to stay toned during pregnancy by lifting lighter weights and doing more reps. Also, yoga and pilates are great options. As you get further along in pregnancy, you'll need to avoid any exercise that involves lying on your back (e.g., situps, crunches, flutter kicks). I'm not sure if you also include running or other aerobic exercise in your current routine, but later in pregnancy you may need to substitute walking (or waddling at the very end). When you do get pregnant, you should definitely discuss your exercise routine with your OB/GYN. He or she can help you tailor your workouts to keep you and baby safe and healthy. Best wishes!

That's fine to lift weights since your body will be use to it already. However, don't over do it!! Walking is also great exercise during pregnancy.

Flys, benchpress, curls, won't hurt the baby. Just avoid heavy squats, Olympic lifts such as clean and jerk, and all that heavy duty world's strongest man stuff.
