I want to either do a throwback theme to the late 1930s early 40s, or England because he never went there but was always curious. He is a simple CT farm boy, and in excellent condition. I love him to pieces and I want this to be super special... so I'd like some thoughts on my theme and especially foods from the 30s and 40s ;-) thanks

I don't know the name of it, or if anything else goes into it. My mom use to make it, and my dad has asked for it.

I was wondering what kind of baked goods keep well enough to be sent down range. My mom sent me cookies, but is there anything else that would still be good by the time the box got there? 10 to 15 days is the average for the delivery time. Trying to help out the hubby over there.

I want to make one, but I don't make the time to make one every morning. Would it be possible to make a really big one and store it in the refrigerator for later and heat it up? Or will it not reheat right or go bad or something?

I'm still trying to find out the best sides to go with a great burger. I love onion rings and potato salad but I'm looking for something easier and healthier. I usually just wind up doing a salad to make it fast and easy.

What's your favorite food to eat with burgers?

Original recipe calls for:
2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

I do not have self rising flour...
The "tip" said if you don't have self rising flour, use 1 cup flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt = 1 cup self rising flour.

(The tip is for 1 cup self rising flour, I need 2 1/2 cups.)

MY QUESTION: What is the TOTAL amount of flour, baking powder, and salt that I need for this entire recipe? I only want to measure each ingredient once.

Is anyone better with numbers than me?? THANKS SO MUCH! :)

I have some white ginger, some yellow ginger, some kahili ginger, not officially edible ginger but can you eat them anyway? Is it harmful or merely not tasty?

Sure wish they made them. I seem to prefer the taste of a burnt chip.
Do you?

I am thinking about buying an indoor grill. Which is better...George Foreman or the kind that you actually place on the stovetop?? And maybe this sounds silly but does the food cooked on them taste like it has been cooked outdoors?

I'm making grilled cheese, and I have a can of that soup at home with me, and I always see on commercials how they eat it with the sandwich. Is it good? Can you just take part of the sandwich and dip it into the soup and it'll taste good? I don't want to waste a can of useable soup if I'm not going to eat it or drink it, whatever you do with it.

Thanks a ton!!!!!!
