Hi, i am making cheese cake and it is resulting delicious!

I just have one problem, the book that i took the recipe from says that you should take the cheeseckae out the oven when the edges are a little puffed and the center still jiggles. Ok, I am doing that and in that moment everything is perfect. But as it cools the center starts to get down and then the edges result really puffed, a lot taller (almost half an inch) that the rest of the cake.

What could i do?

I have a slight allergy to uncooked fruits and vegitables. They make my throat and ears itchs, my tongue swell and sometimes I present with a rash. I have asked my doctor what it is but he says he would have to run extensive tests, and I dont find it worth it. Instead I stay away from those foods that make me sick. Anyhow. I am starting a diet with my husband, or rather getting back on the diet, but we are getting bored of eating the same thing all the time. I am looking for creative recipes to spice up our daily menu. Our diet is currently consisting of fruits and veggies, and white meats. We are cutting bad carbs (like white taters and breads) down to a minimum, but we are far from atkins. Remember I CAN eat cooked fruits and veggies. But not so many raw ones. I am alright with grapes and bananas, but not apples and pears when raw. It seems complicated. But I would really like to see what you guys come up with! Other than my food allergies, we are far from picky eaters! Thanks alot!

I'm own my on now and I was always a bad eater as a child. I'm struggling because I thought I would really get into cooking. Most days after work I just boil pasta or eat cereal. I really want to learn how to cook and also learn how to plan my week's meal and optimize when I go shopping for groceries. Can anyone give me suggestions on books, recipes, how to shop for one person etc? I don't even know how to buy meat... I can't saute chicken, I can't make sauce, etc... I will kill myself of starvation or get really poor eating out :)

I was reading online recipes that turn instant mashed potatoes into soup, granted there will not be potato chucks in it like I prefer

I have garlic chive instant potatoes, you add 4 cups of milk and the you add in salt pepper and celery salt, I want to edit this and use celery stalk pieces, and toped with bacon and cheese on top. Also I have instant cheese potatoes I can use the same recipe with and skip the cheese topping and just add bacon to it.

Normally I cook for others, tonight it's just me; Tom has Karate tonight so it's solo cooking. I often gourmet cook things, like last night steamed Cod and shrimp with sautéed zucchini and steamed mushrooms.

What is something I can make for one person? I'm blank here.

My little one has been poorly and just gone back to school. When she gets in I would like to make some play dough. All the recipes I have seen include cream of tartar. I don't have this in the cupboard and have no car today so can't get to anywhere that would sell it. Can I use an alternative or miss it out altogether? Just wanted something different for her to do as a bit of a treat.
