Take a tin of chopped tomatoes and a tin of tuna in brine or spring water (you can leave out the tuna, if you are vegetarian).
Heat the frying pan, put the tomatoes from the tin there, add some olive oil, chopped garlic and some basil and fresh olives if you want (chop them first). You can can 1 or 2 ancovies if you have them. Heat it up untill most of the water evaporated, then add tuna (drain it first) stirr well for a couple of minutes - and voila! you sauce is ready.
I have been cooking it for a very long time - the ingridients vary depending on what you have in the house. You can always add some other seafood, fresh if you want. It really is goood!

Hi! Try this one: buy cherry tomatoes, put them into very hot water and leave them there for like 10 minutes so you can peel them easily. In the meantime heat the water for the spaghetti in a different pot. While you wait for it boil, take a (frying) pan, pour 2 tablespoons of oil, a clove of garlic cut in half and chili pepper (if you like it). Let it heat until the garlic turns golden, not brown (otherwise it tastes bitter). Add the peeled cherry tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste and let it all cook for like 10 minutes, not longer. Once the pasta water boils, put the spaghetti in, let them cook (if the cooking time on the box says 10 minutes, you wanna cook them for 7 minutes and try one before draining them, don't overcook pasta, it's awful). Once the spaghetti are ready, drain them into a colander and put them into the pan with the tomatoes and all the sauce. Sautee the whole thing for 2 minutes and you're done! I cooked this dish for an American family and they LOVED it! You can add some basil in the sauce if you like it or sprinkle some parmesan cheese... Enjoy!!

If you can get to a Vons/Safeway store, the best thing to do is purchase a container for Krinos imported grated myzithra cheese. It should be located in the gourmet cheese section of any supermarket. Comes in 4oz tub. Take this, along with a stick of butter. Melted the butter in a shallow saute pan and add this Myzithra cheese....... and Viola...you have a great sauce. This is wonderful, if you've ever eating at the Old Spaghetti Factory, they serve this and it is delicious.
good luck,
Caroline

i use contadina. just add a teaspoon of sugar to each can ....and some herbs...whatever you like basil, cilantro, parsley, about a tablespoon olive oil, and some garlic, onions, and i like to use greenonions and green bellpeppers too. make sure you cook your onions and peppers and garlic down first with the olive oil. then add sauce and sugar and seasons. and if you like it thick then add 1 can of contadina paste ...for thinner sauce add a can of water. let it cook for 30 min. to an hour and taste it regularly til it's how you like it.

1. olive oil, parmesan cheese, dried herbs, and pepper.

2. tomato sauce or paste, chopped onions, garlic powder, salt & pepper

3. diced tomatoes, dried herbs, garlic powder, salt & pepper

Just improvise, anything with olive oil or tomatoes will work fine.
