You sort of can't answer this question because everyone makes their burgers different sizes. We've cut back on the meat and now get 3 burgers to a pound, where we probably used to only get 2. The three per pound gives you about 5 ounces per burger. Not big, not real small. If you have a big appetite, I'd suggest using 8 ounces per burger. Use a sturdier bun, like they sell in the bakery of your store.

Depends on the size of the burger. Usually about 3 or 4 to a pound.

Well, if your at a fast food restaurant, eating a quarter pounder, that would be 4.
Based on that, how big do you want the patties to be. If you want them thicker, you will get fewer burgers, if you want them smaller or thinner you can get more.
If you add filler you can get more. I sometimes add large diced onion, mushrooms, and bread crumbs to mine. And if you form the patty around cheese you can have a cheese burger with the cheese on the inside.

It depends on how large you want to make them. Usually, 1/4 of a pound is used to make a hamburger. However, you can make them larger or smaller, to your taste and appetite.

I always make 3 out of a pound of ground beef - they are
nice sized and not a whimpy small one.
