Cooking & Recipes - October 2006

I usually put greenbeans, potatoes and onions together, cut up the ham, and cook it that way but today I was wanting to try something new...any ideas?

I have 4 sausages in the fridge. Last night I had sausages and mash. Tonight I want to have another sausage based dinner that isnt just sausages chopped up in pasta. Does anyone have any good ideas?

As we get to Thursday lunchtime, I am finding myself starting to trough in terms of enthusiasm for cooking from scratch as I normally do, and I'm contemplating a ready meal tonight.....I seem to get into this pattern every week. Anyone else find themselves in a weekly cooking cycle or is it just me?

When I Buy say Heinz winter veg soup or tomato soup what could I add to it to make it a bit more nutritious & filling? I normally just dip bread in it but bread makes me So bloated.

My dad says no because when you fry chips in reall;y hot oil, the oil sels the potato and they don't absorb as much, wheres slowly baking them in the oven they absorb a lot more fat - is there any truth to this?

I have a chicken, bacon, potatoes, carrots, parsnip, swede, onions, peas, sweetcorn, baked beans, tomatoes, pasta, rice, chicken flavoured savoury rice, all sorts of herbs and spices, milk, cheese, and flour.

What can I make out of this lot. Not roast chicken with veg! I'm a bit bored of the typical roast chicken with veg meal... which is why I've asked...

Before you start freaking out and telling me to go to pets THIS WAS A KIDS TREAT,.. like Rice Krispies Treats,.. the Kids could help out.

There will probably be many versions because it has been popping up and disappearing for.. I'd say atleast 15 years.

So if anyone has a different recipe for it then one posted then post that one, too. Don't be surprised if I ask this again and again in the next several months.
