Cook some brown rice and stir it in. Not only will it fill you in the short term but brown rice is one of thoses slow energy release foods so you should feel full for longer.

Try adding a few elements on top of the soup, to create a visual display when the soup bowl is placed on the table.
Then a few side dishes to add contrast and bulk between spoonfuls of soup.
For instance on Tomato Soup, a few thin slices of cubed Feta Cheese, and a scaterring of chopped fresh coriander.
The green and white go well with Tomato colour. The coriander lifts the tomato flavour, and the salty feta adds bite and excellent contrast to the tomato flavour.
Side dishes that would work well alongside the usual bread roll - might be a fruit salsa and a small pickle -
Fruit Salsa might be(Avocado & Mango chopped into small cubes with a thin dressing of Oil and Vinegar, a little seasoningand a little chilli if you like heat) - Does not have to be these just choose 2 fruits you like (Pinepple and Papaya) (Apple and Guava) (Pear and Peach) - The better the quality of the oil and vinegar - the better the salsa I like Cider Vinegar and Rice Wine Vinegar - the oil should not overpower the flavours of the ingredients but I do like Olive Oil and Walnut Oil in my dressings.
The small pickles can be anything from a Jar, like Black or Green Olives, Gherkin etc - But I also like to make my own - e.g. Quails eggs, boiled peeled and kept in a jar in the fridge in a spicy Oil & Vinegar dressing, or sweet and sour reduction.

For tomato soup - you can dip grilled cheese sandwich in it.
You can also add some tortilla chips, avocado, sour cream, and cut up a bit of cilantro - for a quick mexican fiesta!
For Veg soup - if you are not a vegetarian then you can add some precooked chicken - the ones they sell in the deli section of the market, makes the soup a bit more hearty and definately more filling. If you are vegetarian, then you can use roasted portobello mushrooms - coat them with a little olive oil and some italian herbs and place them under the broiler for 10 min or until soft. cut them up and throw them in the soup with some parmesam cheese.

If you are using canned soup as a complete meal, you may also wish to add your own variations such as some cooked chicken breast, can of tuna, or some egg whites or even cooked pasta. (added in while soup is simmering to create poached eggs) to increase the protein content.
Croutons aslo make a soup even more fantastic, either those made of deep fried cubes of bread seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic, or small roasted potato cubes

I make my own. Dice and boil up any and veg (leeks, carrots, celery, tomatoes, courgettes, peppers, potatoes, mushroom etc) with salt and pepper and a dash of olive oil. If you want you can add pasta towards the end of boiling or top with croutons and/or grated cheese. It is fantastic - even cold, healthy and nutritious and filling.

I like to put in the cheddar fish crackers in my tomato soup.
i have also added to tomato soup:
cook 1/2 cup med. sea shells noodles seperatly
drain,
add a chunk ( about an inch)of velveeta cheese to the heated tomato soup.
stir until melted, than add the cooked noodles. my kids love this !
If it's healthy your looking for, get the whole grain noodles, and low fat velveeta.

Add fresh vegetables.Try thinly-sliced carrots, chopped parsley, sliced parsnip, and a thinly sliced clove of garlic.
Also add beans or lentils.
If desperate for meat, you could add small pieces of cooked chicken and have it simmer for ten minutes in the soup. Add a cup of water if you are going to simmer.
