HOMEMADE TACO SEASONING MIX
Printed from COOKS.COM
1 tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. each ground cumin, garlic powder, paprika, powdered oregano and sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Makes 3 tablespoons of seasoning mix, which is equal in strength to a 1/4 ounce package of commercial seasoning mix.
Tacos come from Mexico and are made from corn. Some taco shells are soft. The good thing about this recipe is that the meat can be used to make other things like burritos, tostados and on top of lettuce, to make a salad....
How wonderful-to be a cook! Grand luck!

Taco seasoning is a mixture of spices used to make the Mexican dish Tacos. It consists of Chili Pepper, Cumin, Oregano, Red Pepper, Onion, Garlic, and Salt. You mix the seasoning with cooked ground beef and water, cook until seaonings are mixed through and water is evaporated. Put the meat in a Taco shell and add cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, taco sauce. Very delicious !!

Taco seasoning comes in a packet. You cook and drain a pound of ground beef. Add a cup of water and you sprinkle it in the beef. It is how you prepare taco meat for mexican tacos.

Usually it is purchased in powder form. It contains dryed spices like red pepper, onion, garlic, and paprika. You could make your own or if buy it but I don't know if it's popular enough in India for you to find it. And you don't have to use ground beef. Beans work okay with it.
