When I have a steak, I like to let it marinade for about an hour in a mixture that is half milk, half italian dressing, and a touch of barbecue sauce. I also add in spices, like garlic, onion powder, pepper, oregano, and basil.

Pepper Steak
.
INGREDIENTS:
3 tablespoons butter or oil
1 1/2 pounds round or flank steak
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced onion
1 cup diced celery
2 cups canned tomatoes, chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
2 bay leaves
3 large green bell pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/4 cup cold water
PREPARATION:
Heat butter over medium high heat, brown meat, which has been cut into 1/4-inch wide strips. Brown the meat in 2 or 3 batches so that each batch just covers the bottom of the skillet without crowding. Remove meat and set aside. Reduce heat, saute onions for 5 minutes. Return meat to skillet, add remaining ingredients except peppers, cornstarch, soy sauce and water. Add peppers, which have been seeded and cut in 1/2-inch strips, simmer covered for 10 minutes. Blend cornstarch, soy sauce and water in small dish; stir into meat mixture. Cook until thick and clear, about 1 minute.
Pepper steaks serve 6.

I think the best way is broiled on 500 or high in the oven 4 mins or so on each side you can keep looking in the oven to see if its done .Make sure its not burning because it will fix real fast .You can put seasoning on the steak before you cook it .And of course A1 steak sauce afterwards.Take a knife to see the middle if its red or well done.

Grill 1-1.5 cm (1/2inch) thick steak with small fat throughout, on a grill 10 minutes on one side, turn over, salt, pepper, and grill 6-8 minutes more. You can get descriptions of rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done in cook books. One exception is Pittsburgh rare, which is done on a hot cast iron plate resulting in a scorched outside and still a red inside.

cooking steak can be done in so many ways,, my favorite is on the grill of course,, I marinate mine,, in a mix of italian dressing, beer,, and soy sauce.
you can also fry them in a very hot pan, with just alittle olive oil,
broil them under the broiler in your over for about 7 mins on each side for medium rare,, season with salt and pepper, or again a store bought marinade ect.
you can also cut them into strips and serve as in stir fry, tacos , fajita's, in salads,,
good luck
