The best pot roasts I ever had were made in baking bags for the purpose.
Get a nice chuck roast, add peeled carrots, potatoes, an onion or 2 quartered up, some celery cut up in 3 or 4 inch pieces and then add 2 packages of instant gravy mix made according to directions. Close the bag up like it tells you and then bake it at about 350 for a few hours. The longer you bake it the more tender it will be. Absolutely delicious!

this is the best roast recipe i have ever eaten , and you dont have to fix anything else to accompany it except maybe some rolls.one beef or pork roast, season with oregano ,, basil, garlic powder, in frying pan melt a little butter have pan good and hot , add the meat brown on both sides , place meat in roasting pan that has been sprayed with non stick spray, add your veggies *(chopped in large pieces) carrots, potatoes, turnips, onions, cabbage, sprinkle on alittle more of the seasonings , lay a few ears of corn on the cob on top dot generously with butter , deglaze your pan with water, simmer it long enough to get all the goodys lose , then pour over your roast, cover bake one to two hours or untill meat is done and veggies tender but not turned to mush.....
