She wants not a solitaire ring but some kind of ring with a bunch of little diamonds set into the top of a band; like a wedding band, but with a bunch of little diamonds along the top.

Is she confused, or am I? Because I can't seem to find one like this.

I am not buying my bridesmaids jewelry as a gift. We all have such varying tastes in jewelry, so I just decided not to do it.

Should I tell them this? Is jewelry kind of expected? I feel like everyone always give jewelry.

Should I give them guidelines on what kind of jewelry to wear so they don't look sloppy, or not?

My gf put her name into a drawing through davids bridal and we were called today and told that our name has been picked! Well they say we won two tickets to a bridal expo, and a three day two night trip to our choice of 23 destinations, well my gf asked if we had to pay for anything, and the lady said no that they dont want a credit card or anything like that, its not a time share or anything. I guess it just seems too good to be true lol, but has anyone ever won anything like this and how did it turn out? Oh and the lady said she worked for Bridal America if that helps!

If I am asking my girlfriend to marry me is it best to buy a nice but cheap ring so if she says 'yes' she can then buy one of her choice or do I go straight out and buy an expensive ring that I like? I think it is best to give her the choice but would like your thoughts.

I'm planning my program at this time. I've decide to include loved ones names and pictures who have passed. This I thought would be a surprise to him and a part of the gift to the family members and guest who attend our wedding. Do you think this will be tasteless or tasteful. Both of our families are now small and I have pictures of just about everyone inculding people he doesn't.

My fiance and I got engaged in August of this year. We've been together for four years, so when we started planning, we decided on a wedding in October of 2009. Well, I for some reason wanted to bump it up because I didn't feel like waiting over two years.

I have just decided to go back to school. I'm 20 and he's 21, so we're both relatively young. I am getting a degree as a medical secretary.

Here's the thing: do you think its wise to push back the date to 2009 again so I can go to school and get a decent job, or do you think just keep planning the wedding for next year and just wait to go to school?

Nothing has been set in stone: no invitations, save the date cards, venues, photographers, etc. The only thing so far done is asking my bridesmaids to be a part of the big day.

We are paying for everything ourselves, and it can be a bit stressful trying to come up with nice things for our very small budget.

Any opinions?

Please help me.. I'm 21 yrs old, and have been with my boyfriend for 4 yrs. We don't/haven't lived together and had planned on getting an apartment as soon as I got a job. I'm Hispanic and he is too. Our parents are the traditional Mexicans that would prefer us get married through the church before moving in with each other. I love the idea of getting married- we had talked about getting married, and i know he's the one... but I'm tired of living with my parents and he is too. He's 23. Should we do the traditional way and marry then live, or go along with what's normal nowadays and live together - then plan a wedding. I know that financially - it'd be better to marry then start buying a house... cause if we get an apt, live together for 2 yrs or so.. then marry, --- idk? help...suggestion...

My family and hometown is about 5 hours away from where I currently live. My fiance is a pastor and we would really like to get married here in his church. My family is upset about this and would prefer me to marry in the church I grew up in. Is it unreasonable to have the wedding where my life is now? Am I neglecting their feelings on the matter? Just as a side note his family lives two hours away from us as well so everyone will have to travel.

It's my crazy ex-friend update. So this is her invite story...
Make a long story short for everyone who hasn't been following this... Got married 1 in Vegas- having giant church wedding in white gown 6 months later (redo) . Demanding shower... Demanding lavish gifts and lots of attention. I kicked her out of my wedding because she was trying to ruin it and make herself center of attention. I am getting this information from a mutual friend who is still in her wedding. This mutual friend is starting to get worried that like her shower- no one is coming!!

1. RSVP date is Jan 5th and the date for the wedding is the Jan 19th- they invites are NOT mailed out yet. She is hoping to get them outing next week!
2. It's Christmas- Hello the mail takes twice as long!
3. The invite has a picture on it from the first wedding.
4. 80% of her guest list is out of state.
5. It's for Jan in New England- Hello SNOW!
6. They have a phone number to RSVP by.

We started planning our wedding 17 months in advance. My parents offered us $15000, His parents said "we had already discussed paying for the reheresal dinner and alcohol. I'm confirming that we will pay BUT (there's always a but) we want to know pricing -- no surprises." sounds good right??? WRONG. So we visited the last hall on our list and they were the cheapest we found $16000 just for the reception. so we proposed this to his parents broken down to food costs "X" Beer costs "Y", hall costs "Z" and so on... their beer costs were $2200, and they said "wow thats alot of money for a simple bar service, why dont you do a firehall wedding"
Am i wrong for wanting to flip out because they have an issue with $2200.. HELLO my parents are paying $15000 and thats soposed to be OK???
I have no clue what to do.
P.S. they got married 2 years ago (second marrage) their reception was at a firehall and it only cost them $5000
P.S.S. they already told us the Rehersal dinner is a Pizza Party

How much does a marriage license cost?
Does it vary by state (I live in Jeffersonville, IN)?
Will we be getting married by a judge?
How many days in advance do you need your license before you get married or is it possible to get married the same day you get it?
How long does the ceremony last?
What all does the ceremony consist of?
Can vows be exchange?
Is it mandatory for you to have witnesses there?
How many days in advance does it need to be scheduled?
If anyone has experienced this, then what other things did you do this day to make it more special?

Thanks so much for the answers. I really appreciate it.

My daughter had three bridesmaids. Her sister is the maid of honor, her cousin (they have been close in the past) and a friend. Anyone that has read my previous posts knows that the groom will be arriving the day of the wedding (USAF). Brides cousin and friend have not been very active in helping with the wedding. Although my daughter pretty much let the girls pick out the dresses they would wear, the cousin ordered it a little small, then had to have it altered. Then we had a seating issue and the cousin wanted to sit in a certain place, now the cousin has informed my daughter she will not be at rehersal because her boyfriend can't get there in time. My daughter is getting a little frustrated, and is worried that the ceremony is going to be chaos. Oh ya, the cousin and friend also arrived 1 1/2 hours late to her bridal shower last weekend, no excuse was given. Is my daughter being oversensitive or should I sit down and talk to the cousin and friend before this gets out of control?
