I am planning a wedding and would really like to have a balanced and harmonious feeling during the ceremony and dinner/reception. While my future husband does not like asian inspired designs he does like the idea of including the 5 elements into our celebration: Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, & Metal.
We are having an outside ceremony and dinner in France. We are definitely struggling with how to incorporate these elements without having an eastern-themed wedding.
Any ideas would be GREAT!
Thanks so much!

I purchased a wedding gown for my daughter and she found a different dress that she liked. So we purchased that dress and now I have a brand new dress that I want to sell and I am having a hard time narrowing down a shop that will purchase s item in question. If I could narrow down a consignment shop(s) that specializes in this type of item for resale I would gladly appreciate it.

I'm at a total loss. I have no clue what to do in terms of floral design for an amphitheater wedding. The site is outdoor and all stone. I like simplistic elegance, but I don't even know where to start. I don't want anything gawdy, but I have to do something, right?

What kind of wedding band would you get with this?

I know with 3 stones you have to get them bent a bit, but what about solitaires? Do you think a half-eternity band would go?

Here's an example:

Any input is greatly appreciated :)

My fiance wants he and his groomsmen to wear white tuxes ... I like the idea, but the problem is that my dress isn't going to be stark white, more of a diamond white, with gold accents. Here is what my dress looks like ...

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=fantasia&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=8&style=S5019

Would it clash if the guys wore white tuxes? Should we try to find an off-white or would that just make the tuxes look dirty?

Help! My fiance really really wants white tuxes, but I just don't want it to clash, and I'm not changing my mind on the dress.

In august of 2006 my fiance' commited suicide. At the time we had just bought a new home and our daughter was 10 months old ( the first and only for both of us ). I have gone through alot of therepy etc... ( I actually saw him after he shot himself) We had no problems, we were the couple everyone wanted to be. The issue at hand is that he has an older brother who I became very close to during this trajedy (previously I couldnt stand him) He has fallen deeply for me and wants to take care of my daughter and I- ABSOLUTLY nothing prior to the death of my fiance ever took place ( asimple hello would be all, as I said I couldnt stand him ) I do have feelings for him, but I feel ethically its so wrong, plus Im by no means anywhere near being over my fiance. Any POSITIVE guidance would be appreciated.

I want to play one or two songs by Elvis Presley at the wedding. But Love me tender is too slow, while Can't help falling in love's lyrics are not really inspiring.

Can you suggest some titles?

The wedding is in June and I'm planning on sending out Invitations at the end of march or beginning of April. How soon is too son to register at stores like target? I have a lot going on in the 3 months leading up to the wedding, so I am wondering if it would be better to get it out of the way as soon as possible?

My fiance and I are getting married in Charlotte NC and are looking for a venue to hold our wedding reception. We would like to find something intimate and perhaps a little off of the beaten path. I have exhausted all online resources (such as the knot, eventective, etc.) and am not finding much. Any ideas from those who live in the Charlotte area?

After nearly five years of being with his live-in girlfriend, my dear friend is going to ask for her hand in marriage. He doesn't want to do it in their house because he feels it's tacky, so he's taking her out to a fancy steak house. The question is this: How should he pop the question without help from the restaurant staff? Any unique ideas on how to present the ring? I've suggested the wine glass or dessert cart ideas, but he isn't keen on those. He also isn't the type to get on his knee and publically humiliate himself, so for him to want to do this out in public at all is amazing. Thanks everyone, in advance! Let's help my buddy out please!

Artsy friend got married, didnt even know she was engaged. Looking for something local to Denver to order her a $50 GC for, and looking for store ideas. She's in her 30's so probably has the basics already and have ruled out just giving $$$.

1. It was the same date as a friend who has been married 5 years, and they object, saying that is their date,

2. It is the same date as your grandparents and they say they would prefer you change it.

Are there any circumstances you would easily switch it, or any circumstances you would stand firm, no matter what?

My fiance and I are planning our wedding, but we're not exactly sure how to go about it. We've been looking at dresses, and we're not exactly sure about who's going to wear the dress. She has her heart set on the perfect wedding, but if we both wear dresses, how exactly would we do it? Should we both walk down the isle? Or should one of us already be waiting at the altar? I'm not sure what the best plan would be, and it's kind of bugging me... Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I am a 28 year old woman who is engaged to a 27 year old man (Scott). Scott has never really liked my mom & yesterday he did something really horrible. My mom called me yesterday to tell me Scott's mother had sent out money (Scott's parents are paying half for the wedding) for the hold for our DJ & my mom was thought his mom was upset w/ her did not write a little not (not a thank you, just a note). I told my mom it was nothing & to just not think about it. I told Scott just to let him know and he got very angry & called my father & told him exactly how he felt & I guess Scott was not very nice. Scott also told his parents and they also got all upset about this. I have no clue as to why this would upset them so much. Scott says because he and his parents are wondering what it will be next. I asked him if anything had happened inj the past to make him think this & he could not come up with anything. I just have no clue what I should do and how I should do please help me out.

my bf and i have been together for almost 3 years (3 yrs in feb). he's 29-no kids, never married. i'm 28 w/3 little girls (ages 8,6,and 5) that i have part-time. we talked about getting married and living together about a year and a half ago. just last week he asked me to move in with him when my lease is up at my apt at end of Feb. I'm SO excited. over the past few months my kids have been spending the nite at his house to get us all used to living like a family and my cat moved in with him too.

i told him a long time ago that one of my conditions to moving in together was we had to be engaged first (i didnt want to send my kids the wrong message) and he agreed.

christmas is right around the corner and he hasn't asked me what i want yet (which he normally does long before now). do you think my ring is coming?!! my birthday is in Feb to so it might be then...

my basic question is do you think he will obey my wishes and propose before i move in w/him?!!!

I decided to give my 3 bm's a framed picture of the 2 of us together and a necklace to wear at the wedding.

I have the picture frames... now I just need the necklaces...

My budget is about $10-15 per necklace. I'd like to find something contemporary but tastefull.
I am leaning towards a heart of butterfly, but am open to suggestions. I prefer silver.

Can you recommend any "thrifty" sites? Thanks

I'm getting married in May and my mom's kind of planning everything since she's paying for it so she's already ordered a bit of stuff for the reception but I was wondering
does anyone have any ideas for a Faerie (fairy) tale theme wedding?
by the way - the wedding will be outdoors

I'd love to hear all ideas for Faerie Tale theme decorations and etc. for the ceremony and/or reception...

and a + if it's DIY or kind of inexpensive...

Thanks ahead to all who answer and give ideas
also I may add some details to this later =)

I am considering getting a wedding dress that is white with black trim. My colors are red, black, and white. I don't want red trim.

Would this look classy or trashy?

Here is the dress:
