I mean a good quality ring without the outrageous price normally attached to it. I don't want a cheap junk ring, just a nice ring for the best price.

I want my bridesmaids to wear deep brown dresses but I know that the groomsmen can't wear brown vests with black tuxes so would it look ok if I just picked out a color that coordinates with brown for their vests? I didn't know if it looks better if the bridesmaids and groomsmen need to match or if it doesn't really matter? If it would look ok to go with a different color, what color would coordinate good with deep brown? I'm getting married in the fall so I'm trying to stick to fall colors...any advice is greatly appreciated....thanks!!!!

Anything but burnt orange...I love burnt orange, I'm using that color for flowers but please not for the vests, it'll look like Halloween with the black tuxes!!!

You want a fairly small wedding but have a HUGE family?

If I invite everyone we'll be in debt for life, but I feel pressured to invite everyone because it's a fairly close-knit family. People who I wouldn't invite to my wedding DO get invited to my sister's baby showers, etc., and all went to my siblings' weddings. (we're talking 2nd cousins...) I want to invite who I want to invite but I don't want to insult anyone. What would you do?

My husband & I already married civilly. For financial reasons, we are having our big white wedding with bridesmaids & flowers, cake & out of town guests in August 2008.

What do we call this on the invites? Is this a 'second marriage'? A renewal of vows? I want to walk down the aisle, but is this inappropriate now that I'm already married? The "wedding" will look and feel like a real marriage - I will have a band, big cake, flowers, dancing... but how do I present this event to my guests?

It is okay if they know we are already married, but I do not want to take away from the "magic" of the big day.

Thanks!

My fiance and I are going to walk down the aisle together at our wedding, and since it's not traditional, I wanted to put something in the program explaining the reason behind it so no one is offended or anything. It's probably not necessary but I've seen other couples explain in their program why they've done things a certain way. Basically, we are walking down the aisle together because we've both been on our own for so long that no one needs to "give" me away (he's 32, been out of the house since 18 and I'm 29, out of the house since 18). Also, I think it's sexist and kind of retrograde to have the bride doing the "big moment" thing when everyone is staring at her. These are just my personal beliefs; I totally respect people who want to do things the traditional way. Any ideas of how to explain this nicely without offending anyone or sounding superior? I really don't feel our choice is any better than anyone else's. It's just different. Any help would be appreciated!

They're not a new trend either since white has only been around since the 1800s when Queen Victoria introduced it as a sign of wealth. Prior to that, brides wore whatever they owned, usually in a bold color. So why do many people think it is a cardinal sin? White and ivory aren't that flattering on many people so why should they not be allowed to wear a color that does flatter them without being ostracized as being weird or having no class whatsoever? Traditions change in every generation so why can't this one change too if someone doesn't agree with it or feel comfortable with it? It's not something that is infringing on the guests' comfort which is what etiquette (something else entirely but incorrectly lumped into being the same thing by many people) is intended to preserve.

My husband and I got married by a justice of the peace shortly after leaving home to move to another state where we have no family. November 16th was the day. Some family and friends are aware of it as our plans were to return home in April and have an actual wedding at that time. Plans have changed and it has become something that we are no longer able to afford. Not gonna get into how sad that all makes me, as what happened is not exactly how I pictured it. Anyways, I am wondering about sending out announcments. I'm not concerned with it seeming rude or like a solicitation for gifts, what I am actually wondering is how in the world would I word something like that? I really want to "offically" announce that we are married but I'm just not sure how to go about doing it. ALL suggestions are welcome as I really don't know where to even begin with this. Thanks!

My MOH,which is my little sister(18), and I are having a disagreement about the brisemaid dresses and I have gotten different responses about what to do about it.
This is her choice: http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_bycolor_detail.jsp?stid=2333&sid=7998&cfid=62

and I think its kinda plain, but my sister hates MY choice:

my dress is rather formal:

so which do you think?

I have a 1 carat 3-stone round diamond ring. I was looking/trying on different types of bands to go with my engagement ring but none of them seem to look right or the gold didn't match. I was looking at eternity bands on-line but haven't had the chance to try them on with my engangement ring.

This is my ring:

This is the band I really liked and that matched the best:

What do you think??? Any ideas or opinions would be great! Thank you everyone!

I'm getting married April 12, 2008, almost exactly 4 months from now. I have 2 adult bridesmaids and two Jr. bridesmaids.

One of my bridesmaids is trying to get pregnant. My agreement with my girls is that they all choose a dress in Peri from David's bridal. I don't care what style..No special accessories or anything...Just a Peri David's Bridal dress and silver or clear shoes.

My bridesmaid doesn't want to order a dress until February, to see if she is pregnant by then. David's doesn't make a maternity gown in Peri. February. is going to be too late, since it takes 6 weeks to ship the gown, leaving NO time for alterations.

I've already suggested ordering a dress a size or two larger. She says that would be too expensive to alter.

Her solution? I'm supposed to let her have her husband sew her a maternity gown. We're having this whole issue, and she is NOT EVEN PREGNANT.

She is now dropping out of the wedding.
What would you do, if this happened to you??

I am planning to have a December wedding in 2008. I love the color green, so i was thinking of a Clover color, being that it is a little darker than the Celedon and can look more festive.

I was reading about some ideas and they said that silver and light blue are nice for a winter wedding.
I like that idea, but i really really love the green. Is this going to look rediculous in the middle of winter??

Bridesmaid dresses will be green as well as a sash on my dress.

Thank you for your help!
