Well, I love my moissanite -- it was so inexpensive but it's just as strong and sparkly as a diamond.
I agree with the other girls who said canary yellow diamonds, but they're really expensive. I was actually looking at Gemesis yellow diamonds instead. They're lab-created so they're much cheaper, but they're true diamonds. Check it out: http://shopping.schubachstore.com/s.nl/sc.62/.f

My husband chose diamonds, which are very lovely. I love ALL colored gemstones, though. I just think diamonds are good because they match everything.
I bought myself a pink topaz ring with diamond shoulder stones, as a dress ring, and always thought it would have made a lovely engagement ring. Too bad pink diamonds are so pricey!
I think pearls and diamonds are lovely, too.

I LOVE fancy yellow diamonds or canary diamonds.. but like others have said.. until we one day have an extra 200 000 dollars laying around.. I would of loved to put even some small ones in my engagment ring but they are hard to get ahold of and very expensive!
I think Pink Diamonds are also beautiful if used in the right setting.. I dont like them as accents though, just as the main center.. again very expensive.

I have always loved emeralds, so if I was to have a solitaire style ring I'd love an emerald. My wedding band is wide eternity style ring set with tanzanites, they are such a lovely colour, sort of a blue/purple and they are really eye-catching.

Mine is his (garnet) and mine (peridot) birthstones, both heart shaped, in a yellow gold swirl setting accented by seven round diamonds (one for each day of the week) and the words I Love You inscribed on the inside...beautiful and perfect for me. And since the red garnet and peridot green colors are christmasy, when he proposed....it's even more perfect.
Besides the guy's a ringer for Santa lol!

I love colored diamonds. I really wanted a yellow diamond for my engagement ring but they are really expensive. I am hoping to get an anniversary bands with yellow diamonds one day to accent me regular diamond engagement ring.

I used a family heirloom diamond surrounded by pink sapphires. She gets a lot of compliments on it.
