My fiance wants he and his groomsmen to wear white tuxes ... I like the idea, but the problem is that my dress isn't going to be stark white, more of a diamond white, with gold accents. Here is what my dress looks like ...

Would it clash if the guys wore white tuxes? Should we try to find an off-white or would that just make the tuxes look dirty?
Help! My fiance really really wants white tuxes, but I just don't want it to clash, and I'm not changing my mind on the dress.

FYI ... I'm pretty much set that I'm going to let him have the white tuxes ... I know everyone says it's very "80's" but I'm not worried about that. We've just been butting heads because he's dead set on stark white, but I've been insisting that it will clash with my dress. I just need opinions on if I should stand firm on this or if I'm overreacting and it will look fine.
Thanks!

It will look fine. I wore a diamond white Maggie Sottero gown at my wedding and my husband wore a white tux and I think it looked great. Our groomsmen didn't wear white tuxes but our flower girls and ring bearers did.
If you wanted you could email me and then I could probably email you a photo of my hubby & me. It might be way later tonight though.
Also, my husbands tux did not get dirty at all. The kids' did, but his didn't.

Ah! I LOVE Maggie Sottero and I LOVE your dress! Good choice girly!
Ok, since you have some "champagne" coloring in the bottom feathering, have the men wear "khaki" colored tuxes. Honestly, they look better than white (which is so 80s) AND black (which is so boring).
Here's an example:

That's just from going "tan tux" on Google images LOL. I know David's Bridal has a ton of choices as far as that goes.
Again, congrats! Love the dress!

ADD: No, stark white shouldn't clash too badly. I'd *try* to persuade him using your womanly charms to go for a cream or tan though....my dad wore a white tux 20 years ago to his wedding and continues to hate looking at those pictures LOL.
BUT, if it's what the fiance really wants, then high-five to you! You're showing maturity and compromise, both which are highly needed for marriage. You've also learned the wedding isn't just about you, which I myself still have trouble accepting jk :P

I love the dress, does it come in white with the gold accents? That is the way I would go if it is an option. I wouldn't do off white tuxes because I agree it will look dingy, maybe put the guys in a champagne colored tux, is that an option? or all teh groomsmen in white and the groom in black?

Wow! That dress is gorgeous!
I think the tuxes will look fine but I would recommend that you take the dress picture to the tuxedo shop and look a t a few. They may even have some sample fabrics you can take home with you to compare to the dress. Brides wearing off-white colors is becoming more and more common, I am sure they will be able to accomodate you.

Honestly, yes. i think it would clash a bit. Even if the tuxes didn't clash with your dress, its just way too much white.
Besides, white tuxes are very 80's, if I remember correctly. Why don't you suggest that they wear black or gray suits with white shirts, vests, and ties? That may work.

Nope i think of it's going to look large. fairly, the area which would be strange is the tuxedo in Jamaica. Why not basically a white blouse with the appropriate button undone, mild linen pants (the two white, or khaki), and bare feet. you would be boiling warm in an entire out extra healthy. If something, upload a mild blue tie. Remind your bride (ok as her nerves are in all probability fried from making plans) that that's your wedding ceremony too, and in case you're uncomfortable with the assumption, tell her. in simple terms remember, Jamaica is warm, and black makes you warmer than warm decrease than the solar.

I don't like the white tuxs b/c it looks so 80's to me. What about black pants and a white dinner jacket - it won't be snow white but it would look so much better with your dress.

I think it's too much white. Make sure he knows that his tux will get dirty almost as soon as he puts it on- it's almost impossible to keep them clean.
I prefer the earlier suggestion of black pants and dinner jacket- but if he is sold on white, then make sure you take a swatch from your dress to the tux store and make sure they look ok together.

Yeah I think the white tuxes will be fine if your worried about the gold have them have gold vests under the jacket and gold/ white handkerchief things in their pocket
