Every other day?! Dang girl, it's not going anywhere! :)
Sapphires, like all natural stones, will keep their luster (unless totally thrashed....ie. breaking, chipping, etc). I've heard it's always a good idea to take it off when bathing, doing dishes, and when out in the sun too long, since these things *may* cause *slight* discoloration. I've never done these things and my sapphires are fine.
Clean it once a month, or whenever you have spare time. You shouldn't have to replace it.
Congrats :)

The sapphire will not be damaged in any way. Its actually great that its untreated, means it will show its real value later on in years.
As for the cleaning, use what the dealer gave you on the metal that the gem is set on..not the gem itself. I tell all my clients to use bottled water, with a clean towel at least once a week (or in your case once a month) and let it air dry. If you wear it with soap & water (say from washing the dishes) , then just rinse your hand with the ring on with the water to ensure no soap residue is on it.
Hope that helps.

A saphhire is a gem. It will not lose its lustre unless you dunk it in acid or other solvent. General wear will only make it glow. Don't clean it daily! The gold setting will wear down over years so have it checked annually to be sure the prongs aren't loostening - just as you would a diamond.

No natural stones should loose their luster. You really dont need to clean it every other day. Once a month is more than enough.

Sapphires are very hard, only one step below diamond.
It will never lose its luster unless you allow it to rub against other sapphires, rubies, or diamonds... this would scratch it.
Be careful how you store it so it doesn't get scratched, and it should last for generations and generations.

Forever unless you scratch / damage them.
I wouldn't be polishing them that often though. Just a simple cleaning to keep it's luster is sufficient.

saphires are hard like diamonds. No need to clean it so much though. Just make sure you remove it if you are using any caustic cleaners or chemicals.
