Weddings - September 2007

I am getting married in Oct of next year. I want my main color to be red but I don’t know what to use with it other than white, silver or black. Any Ideas?

My girls will be wearing two piece dresses with the top half white and the bottom red.

I had my wedding at a hotel and I had 20 rooms blocked for the wedding well all of them were used up and more
My aunt had a dirty room - she complained
My mom got that same room - she complained over 3 times
another guest had dirty band-aids - complained
my picture lady had a leak - complained
my mom went to the GM (he handeled my wedding) and he said it wasnt his department
i had issues before the wedding and i was suppose to be comped on something never happend
i went to check in my room they had no idea on that
how much do i need to push all this before i should just give up

Hello all. I don't really have a question, I would just like some opinions here. I came across a website:

And I find this concept quite intriguing. I was thinking about doing something like this...I don't mean it in a way like "I want to trash my dress!" but just the high fashion aspect to it is fantastic. I don't want to throw paint on it or set it on fire or anything crazy like that, but just pictures in not-so-traditional locations. I'm sure my dress will get a little banged up, but I'm not paying that much for it ($300) and I think the outcome will be sooo worth it. What's your opinions on "trash the dress"?

Here's the problem. I bought my wedding gown in a different town then where I live/am getting married. I will bring it home the week before the wedding and take it to a store here that will press/steam it for me. I called them about the wax and the gal said she'd heard of it but they didnt have anything they use. My question is, since my dress has beading around the top (its strapless) and it will rub my underarm area and make it raw, is there really a wax or something that I can rub on the beads to make them slicker and help out? If there IS something I can do, where do I find it to buy it since the bridal store doesn't have anything? Help!! I don't want to have red arms on my wedding day! Thanks!

My best friend is getting married next week after a two year engagement. She is furious with me and is refusing to talk to me because I can no longer be in her wedding :( I'm her maid of honor, but I'm 8 months pregnant and on complete bed rest. I'm trying not to stress because I know this can hurt my unborn child, and I did not plan to have to step down from her wedding. I told her she could ask one of the other girls several months ago when I started having problems with my pregnancy but she said that wouldn't be neccessary. She was mad because I was unable to put together a bachlorette party and bridal shower, and I explained to her early on, that financially and physically I would be unable. Now she wont talk to me at all, saying that I just want all the attention because I'm finally having a baby after several years of trying. I could see if I purposly did something, but the Doctors are making my activity limited.
We've been friends for 7 years. What do I do???

I am getting married on October 7th and am trying to decide if we want to write our own wedding vows or not. What are you supposed to write if you choose to write your vows? I dont really know what you are supposed to write exactly...i have never been to a wedding where it was done (then again i havent been to too many weddings lol) :)

I have been invited to our company CFO's sons wedding reception. I have been acquainted with his son and the CFO for about 6 years. They are Mormon so I am not allowed to attend the actual ceremony at the temple as I am not Mormon. Anyway I do not have a date . I will be going with my brother and his girl friend. Should I try and get a last minute date or just go solo. I don't want to look weird in front of our company CFO or everyone else there. I was surprised to even be invited. What to do help.

I was invited to a wedding of a girl that I'm not that great of friends with. I was actually very surprised I got invited. But anyways I would like to give them cash as a gift because they are on a pretty tight budget. I am going to the wedding by myself. I'm still a student so I'm not made out of money, but at the same time I don't want to be cheap. Our dads have been in the fire dept together for like 25 years. So how much should I give?

I am having a destination wedding in sunny Key West where it will be 80 degrees on my wedding reception day. Do you suggest a fondue station with fresh local fruits or a candy buffet where guests can take home their candies as favors. If I do the fondue station I will have to pay extra money for favors. If I do the candy station I'm afraid it might melt together due to the heat. Any suggestions or helpful ideas??

I'm 25 years old and my sister is 15. She is one of my bridesmaids in my wedding but I feel like she's always sbeing left out. With my shower she was basically doing what the others bridesmaids told her because she's not old enough to drive or have a job (for money). Now the bachelorette party is planned and she can't go to that either becuase of her age. i have had this friend named ashley for thirteen years. but she moved almost 2 hours away and i haven't talked to her in about 6 years. we used to be best of friends then we stoped talking because of the distance. well, i'm getting married next year and i really want 3 bridesmaids. i only have two so far and i can only think of ashley for my third one. she's the only other one i would want up there.

although, she just recently had her wedding and didn't say anything to me (even though, we don't have a way of getting ahold of eachother. our numbers changed)

My sis in law *maggy* was married in Germany 4 years ago. She moved back to the states right after and now wants to do a *wedding* for all the family here that missed out on her real wedding. Her wedding renewal was supposed to be 6 months ago..but a car accident that left her mom paralized put the wedding renewal off right now and she said maybe next year. Please read my other question to read on the accident!!! Almost a year ago Maggy asked me and another sis in law to be her brides maids. The fact that she even asked me, I thought she was trying to be friends so I said yess but then the accident happened and I saw who she really was. While Maggy was away in Germany years ago I did all the planning for holidays and birthdays. I did not know at the time that maggy was the one who did this. I plan 1 month ahead of time but Maggy planned 1 week ahead of time never giving the family notice. The family said now they prefer that I do things for planning instead of maggy. I never ment to take over her place. Ive tried to work things out with her and include her in plans but she will either dissagree with ALL my ideas and not work with me or she just starts fights. When Maggy was a kid she did a suicide atempt, was commited in a crazy house over the weekend and is now curently on tons of meddication. Shes the type of person that if you tell her that she tooks like she is pale, she will may have cancer, she will rush to the doc office and demand medication even when shes fine. She likes ppl to feel sorry for her.

I got a little internet happy and purchased 100 books of matches personalized with my wedding date and mine and my fiance's name.

I would have picked sister #2 as my Maid of Honor because we were close but since i have two sisters, I chose a close friend. I wasnt planning to have sister #1 in the wedding because we were not getting along. But eventually I decided to have her in the wedding as a BM. I could not choose her as a MOH because she is not supportive of me at all. Tonight she tells me that she was shocked that i didnt choose sister #2 as the MOH since she was expecting that. I told her that I didnt want to make either of them feel bad by choosing one over the other, so I chose a friend. Also, my friend lives 5 min away while my sisters both live hours away and she has been supportive of my relationship with my fiance from the get go while sister #1 has not. sister #1 is selfish, harbors anger that my wedding day will be while she's 9 mos pregnant, and complains about everything. I am just so sad/mad. This is MY DAY! I am trying my best to include sister #1 but she's a debbie downer!

So, we decided to get married next year. The problem is, our budget only allows 50 ppl, so we wanted to keep it to just family and few close friends. Problem is, now more ppl are finding out about our wedding and want to go. I was wondering if you were someone who was not orginally invited would you find it offending if you were asked to pay for your meal ($25)? How do you go about asking that? Keep in mind, it's not everyone, just those that want to go that weren't orginally invited. We want them there, we just can't afford it.... Thanks to all the responses!!
