Hello all. I don't really have a question, I would just like some opinions here. I came across a website:

http://trashthedress.wordpress.com/

And I find this concept quite intriguing. I was thinking about doing something like this...I don't mean it in a way like "I want to trash my dress!" but just the high fashion aspect to it is fantastic. I don't want to throw paint on it or set it on fire or anything crazy like that, but just pictures in not-so-traditional locations. I'm sure my dress will get a little banged up, but I'm not paying that much for it ($300) and I think the outcome will be sooo worth it. What's your opinions on "trash the dress"?

I saw it on the Boston Globe a few weeks back. It's trully amazing. I love the one underwater ones and the one on the fire scape ladder.

That's what I'm doing, if I get a photographer to agree.

EDIT: OMG I just saw on the website a picture of what I wanted!!! It's teh picture of the bride and groom at the train station waiting for their ride, not even looking at the camera! WOW! I guess someone got my idea first hahahah Totally fashion, I love it and now I have the website on my fas so I can show the photographer what I want.

Good luck

AWESOME!!!! This is the greatest idea I've seen. At least you get to go have fun and actually live in the dress you'll never be able to wear again. I wanna get married just so I can trash the dress afterwards.

I love the idea! My dream is to have a photo shoot in and around a pool like that. There's just something really girly and sexy feeling about getting all dressed up in cute dress with hose and going in the pool. It looks really good especially if the dress is shorter and flary because it actually floats up and around you. I live in FL and always do that anyway at pool parties.

Food for thought:
Photographs are usually taken between ceremony and reception. If you trash your dress you will need another dress for the reception.
I agree these are beautiful pictures. Certainly high fashion in the art of photography.
I would also caution you to talk to your photographer as he might not be able to recreate something like this. Not everyone has the eye for this. I dont want you to ruin your dress and then be disappointed with the results of the pictures..Make sure you check photogs portfolio just to make sure they are capable of such shots..

Many wedding photographers do Trash the Dress shoots. Usually, you don't do it the same day as the wedding. You schedule the session for afterwards, maybe days or weeks. And you don't necessarily ruin the dress, (although you can if you want).

Ask your photographer about it, or if he/she knows a photographer who does. Good luck and have fun!

It's not something I would personally do, but I like the idea. The pictures on that website were beautiful.
