My cousin is bringing her 2 yr old. Should I include her in my count or do I just count my cousin and her husband. What is the age limit to cut off or do you just always count kids even babies?

I'm suppose to be the Maid of Honor at my friends wedding in November. Unfortunately, my friend is a bridezilla from hell and I can't stand her anymore. Is it effed up to back out of the wedding and will she forgive me?

My friend Kim was supposed to be getting married in May 08. She is still with her fiance but they have decided to call the wedding off as they feel it is going too fast. I am getting married next Aug she has offered me her three bridesmaid dresses and she is one of my bridesmaids. I have four in total but the three she has offered me would be perfect and I would then only have to buy another one at full price for my chief bridesmaid. The problem is another of my bridesmaid, Sarah, has said to me she feels it is a bad idea that I buy these as two of them would have to be adjusted for her and Kim, by two to three dress sizes. I don't think this is the real problem, but she does. But Kim is very happy for me to have them, she would rather I did than some stranger. Sarah is also getting married in Sept this year and is under a lot of stress right now so I think this may be another reason she seems to be sulking over the suggestion. Am I wrong to take the offer? Sarah seems to be sulking!

Just put "Adult Only Reception"? With the exception of immediate family only? Or do I have to address that?

I am getting married in September. My fiance and I decided that we would not want any kids at our wedding UNLESS they were a part of the wedding party. At first my friends daughter was going to be a part of the wedding. Long story short now she isnt because we decided there is no way she would be able to walk down the aisle without crying for her mother. Our wedding invitation states "Adult reception" . Our rsvp date was August 1st. It is now the 7th and I have not gotten her rsvp back. Do I call her to find out if she is coming or not? I dont want her to just show up with her daughter. What do you suggest I do. P.S We told everyone including family no children allowed.

My fiance and I plan on getting married next year, but have yet to make the difficult decisions of choosing our wedding party. I do not have any sisters, close female cousins etc, and my best friend of many years and I parted a while back due to differences we could not resolve. Now I am left with a friend from highschool with whom I am not that close with (but always joked about being each other's MOH), and a coworker of mine that I have bonded with over the last 4 years--we are pretty close at work and have even travelled together twice. We get along really well, but our friendship is limited to work/travel--we don't talk outside of work and it seems like more of a one-sided friendship since she is content not hanging out more (she has plenty of her own close friends), and always turns down my invitations to hang out.

I am torn about who to choose as my MOH. I plan on having both in my bridal party, and my fiance actually hates my highschool friend, and adores my coworker.

My fiance and I are trying to set a wedding date for next summer but we are running into trouble with his family and family friend's wedding. One of his childhood friends, who is important to his family, but he rarely talks to any more, set her date for the day we had our hearts set on and the only day we can get the location we really want. We only found out she set her date after we had tentatively set our date and I really don't want to give our date up since it works well with our busy professional schedules (earlier or later would be a nightmare since we both travel internationally), but I also don't want to be rude and offend his family. My main concern is that it will be extremely difficult to start from square one of planning again, and I don't want to wait until an entire year later just to please his family. Help!

I don't think I want my parents on the invitation. They are divorced, and aren't helping with the wedding, plus I can't stand my step-dad. My dilemma is that I am getting married in Hawaii on June 7, obviously its not like my entire family can go so I want to go back to my hometown and have the reception there on June 14 or 15th but how exactly should i word it? Also for the wedding favors we should put the date that we got married right?

My husbands brother informed us that he just married his 19 year old girl friend at the court house on aug 1st and is going to have a wedding in two years. I think this is the most idiotic idea i have ever hear of.( both the courthouse so soon and the wedding later) and it bothers me that we are going to have to sit through and join in on this mockery. What is the point......once you are married you can not have a wedding day at a later time that is just tacky. My husband and i were married in june of this year, may be im just being immature in beging bothered by the fact the his brother got married so close to when we did.
Please only serious answers and no insults.

Ok so the wedding date that me and my fiance picked was July 23, 2008 because it would be 7~23~08. We thought it would be nice because by birthday lands on a 23rd and his on a 7th and its like combining the two days to make our wedding day. My fiances grandfather died i and he thought on July 22nd which i thought was cutting it close but we could deal with it, and then i found out that the anniversary of his death is actually on July 23. would it be rude/wrong if we kept the date? My fiance said he would be fine, but what about his grandmother? Should we keep the date or think of anohter date?

It's our 4th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY tomorrow. We're both in our mid-twenties. We're having a really simple outing together, and just spending quality time together. So, what can I buy my husband for $40 or under besides a card?

I'm tight on budget because I'm not working right now. Plus, it enhances creativity this way. Any ideas will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you. :)

My husband and I would like to renew our wedding vows for our 10-year anniversary. Our wedding had no planning involved. We got married at the courthouse with only a handful of people (7 or 8) I didn't even invite my dad :( , and we didn't have a reception to celebrate. I'm wondering if it would be completely tacky to plan a wedding like I would've wanted it. We are talking about having a ceremony in my husband's parent's backyard. Would a reception at a hall with the D.J. and catered food be too over the top? What about the wedding dress. Any advice about this would be very helpful. I don't want to look like a selfish spoiled brat because I didn't get my wedding the way I wanted it the first time.

my fiance and i are planning a very rock and roll themed wedding. blacks and reds, and well, rather goth and roll looking...we go to a lot of concerts, and this is just our style, so were trying to carry it throughout the wedding.

the thing is though, we really dont want people clinking glasses. it drives everyone nuts. where i live, i dont really have to worry about it getting out of hand, even at weddings where clinking is allowed, it never goes overboard.

so, what can we have guests do that is a little rock and roll flavored? nothing to complicated please! i know lots of ideas for replacing the clinking with something else, but nothing really that seems very..idk, rock and roll.

my matron of honor has not spoken to me in over 3 weeks, she is mad because I did not want her throwing me a bridal shower at my new house that my finance has under construction. and it was only to be a small number of people. I had told her to go in on the one my nieces(both in the wedding) and the family is throwing since most people would already be at that one.
I have tried to open the communication lines with her but with no luck
her husband is the best man and will not respond to my fiance either
I have been told to find someone else to fill her spot, but i am at a lost
i need some answers

My friend is getting married in January. She is a large woman and doesn't want to walk down the aisle like the Staypuff Marshmallow Mam. So, she zapped the white or ivory dress. Her hubby doesn't want her dressing in medieval-like garb either (which looks great on her-she has several formal medieval gowns). Both she and her Mom sew, but they need ideas on appropriate dresses that perhaps use more than one color to break up the expanse (for want of a better word). She also doesn't want a strapless gown. So, do any of you gals know of sites for them to visit to get ideas? Also, suggested color schemes that aren't pastel, but would be still appropriate for a modern wedding. Thanks!

Here's my story: I got engaged like 8 months ago and I will be getting married in 3 months.
I haven't really felt as excited as I think I should be planning my wedding. It's been very stressful not only has it been hard due to our families not really telling us how much they're willing to spend, but also the fact we had a really rough patch in the early stages of our engagement, money issues, i lost my job, and his job is not as good paying to support us both in the worst case I don't get a job, and not to mention his sister HATES me and I don't think his mom likes me very much but she doesn't say anything. It's just so much stress, I am getting physically and emotionally drained. I have woken up recently asking myself if I really want this, or I have dreams about being with other men, or just stuff like that. We also have been arguing so much recently due to all these things. I don't know what to do....

My registries haven't shown any new purchased presents in a couple weeks. I'm kind of worried because a lot of the items were less than $20, so it's not like I registered for crazy expensive things. I'm sure they all know where we're registered.

I am having the wedding at a hotel on an island in Michigan, so it's not really remote, but it might be a hassel to carry a present on the ferry. I've had about 100 RSVPs as coming, so I'm just not sure what these people are planning. I don't know what the average plan for these type of things is? Money or small gifts? I'm not sure .

( I'm not trying to sound spoiled by saying I WANT PRESENTS, I'm just wondering what people do in this situation, so NO RUDE ANSWERS PLEASE)

I have two etiquette questions:
1) We are having a buffet style dinner. Do I need to make a place card on the table to let people know what is being served?

2) Do I need to get the parents a gift for the wedding? We're not doing corsages or anything like that. They have given us money but they haven't really helped. (They live 3000 miles away). Thanks
