right then so he has a huge family and thus far they all plan on going to our wedding I have 10 people who are coming. this sort of makes me feel bad. All of my family lives in the lower 48 and don't want to fly to AK to go, my older sister who was supposed to be my maid of honor doesn't want to fly up. What can I do? I have been so frustrated that we have talked about not doing a wedding and just doing a justice of the peace thing. We tried to work the dates so that more people could come but no one wants to go.

I am paying for their hair and makeup, and I am giving them jewerly. I wanted to get them something extra that wasn't wedding related. My only though is my cousin is younger and I didn't know if she would like this? Or maybe she would because it's an adult gift? What do you think?

I am having a small, simple, private and romantic wedding. We have only invited family and close friends. Also, I will have a big reception for anyone that wants to come. I am only having one person stand next to me at the wedding, which would be my Matron of Honor. But, I have 7 friends that I would love to make my bridesmaids if I were having a BIG Wedding. I really want them to share this day with me and be apart of the ceremony, without ruining what we originally planned on which is a SMALL wedding! So, what I decided to do was to still have them buy dresses to participate in my reception. I want all my friends to be in unisom for the pictures. But my question is, What else can I do? I dont want them to feel like they're just buying a dress for pictures? Anyone have any creative ideas? PLEASE HELP!

He sia dsomething like don't you think 7 years is long enough?

Now I let it go and never really brought it up again, so just to see if he was serious, I asked him last night:
If we were to plan a wedding and get married in 6 monthes are you sure? and he said yes.

But I don't have a engagment ring or anything, and I have tried hinting that to him.

Um soo umm, I dont want to get married in 6 months but I do want to marry him.

But I would like to be happy engaged for a while soo umm, should I worry about about a ring?

Our wedding is next year and we are starting to look at the groomsmens' outfits. There are 3 groomsmen (including best man) and we want them to be unique. All three are uncomfortable wearing formal wear and are more of the sporty type.

The groom is most likely going with a simple black suit. The maids are wearing light blue.

Any suggestions for how the groomsmen can feel comfortable and still look jazzy for the wedding, besides just giving them a different colored tie? We want them to be able to express some personality without being too casual.

What about sports jerseys or something? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi,

Me and my fiance are planning on getting married in a year or so and I was just thinking about what sort of dress I should wear. I'm not normally into wearing dresses but obviously I want to wear something special on my big day. I am a bit insecure about my arms and would like some kind of sleeves, but don't want to look frumpy... suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

My finance & I had a an arguement the other day when his family came over for a cookout. Everything is fine until his uncle starts talking about the bible.. and jesus.. yayda yayda. **I do not believe in god, the church, heaven, hell.. none of it.. I think it's all a big lie** So after 1/2 hr of bible study I was sick of hearing about his religous experiences and went in the house. My fiance comes in 10 minutes later and says i'm being closed minded, and rude- said that it looks bad. Well I didn't care. I wasn't in the mood to hear it. Well after everyone left and we were lying in bed he basically said that there are some things we need to work out before we can get married. He's afraid when we die we won't go to the same place, and that me not believing will eventually pull us apart. Im never going to believe what he does. But he says I won't even give it a chance and he's right. It's like flying purple elephants. it's silly. How can we be happy if Jesus keeps pulling us apart?

Okay...I want a traditional first dance to "I'll be" by Edwin McKain with my fiance but I want a second more upbeat dance to follow right after the slow dance. My fiance's mother owns a dance studio and dance is her life. I thought it would be a great idea to pick a silly more upbeat song and have her coriograph a dance to it. Only problem is I'll still be in my wedding dress so a salsa or swing dance wont be easy! I mean my skirt is very full and Ill have it in a french bussle for the reception. I was thinking a song like MJ's "The Way You Make Me Feel" or "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness...funny songs that would be fun to dance to. What kind of dance do you think would entertain our guests AND that I could pull off with my dress that wouldnt be too slow or too stuffy. Any ideas?

No liquor allowed, that is.. in place, there's sparkling cider. I basically grew up with alcoholic people surrounding me, and I hate alcohol.. for my wedding, I wouldn't want to serve any. It is MY wedding, after all, my party.. Sure, the guests would probably be a bit shocked, but tough luck. Hehe. You don't have to drink to have good time.. I know at least my uncle and dad would be wasted by the end of the night, and PISS me OFF!! GRRR.. so, anyway, my question is what do you think of a dry wedding? Ever been to one?

Im getting married October 20th and it seems to have snuck up on me FAST..
so far I have gotten my dress and a few other minor things but still no cake or down payment on a place or flowers or anything..

no one in my family has actually really had a wedding (everyone just went to justice of the peace) and i cant really afford to hire a wedding planner, we're trying to do everything on our own.

anyways, im starting to wonder if its even possible to throw together a decent wedding in a little over 2 months all on my own (with help from a few relatives.)

I guess Im just curious if anyone else has done or is doing the same thing and maybe a few pointers would help out so much. Im just really stressed over the whole issue, i hope i can pull it all together.

thanks in advance!

There is not a chance I'm asking my parents to do it. I can pay almost 20k down on a 50k starter home. I am a student with a lot of assets, but do not have a good paying job (yet).. only what my parents have invested in the stock market for me.

Her family knows that I have more than enough money, but how do I approach them? I'm paying 1k/month for our rent when my mortgage would be 1/2 that.

We just really need to get out of renting and own a house before we get married in a year.

I'm curious as I plan my wedding. Consider the price of the church, the flowers, the photographer, the wedding dress, the tux rental, the honeymoon trip, the presents to the wedding party and parents, the centerpieces, the DJ, the invitations, the reception hall rental, the food, the drinks, the cake, the limo, the rehearsal dinner, the champagne toast, the engagement pictures, and even the engagement ring. I'm probably forgetting some things...

I'm suppose to get married in September, but my fiance's sister just got married yesterday. After the wedding was over, I felt worn out and I didn't even stand in the wedding. I felt worn out from watching all the proceedings you have to go through (organizing right attire, caterers, getting to the church on time) just to get married.
Now I want to call off my wedding.....any advice? I even skipped out on the reception because I didn't want anybody asking about my upcoming wedding.
(My fiance doesn't want a small wedding.)

Planning our wedding, got most of the big things taken care of, now trying to figure out the small things... right now it's music. I'm planning on having music during cocktail hour, and obviously the dancing part, but when else is music normally played (entrance, cake cutting, flower/garter tossing, etc)? Both of us are more into classic rock and country music, and our song is I'll Stand by You by the Pretenders.
I really want Keep Your Hands to Yourself by Georgia Satellites played sometime, but not during the dancing, any suggestions when?
Also, any other suggestions of any good classic rock songs? I really want to stay away from stuff like Stairway, and nothing Elvis-y. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

I'm probably the only idiot in the world who doesn't know these kinds of things, but my boyfriend and I have been engagement ring shopping and it didn't occur to me until now that we will eventually have to get the actual wedding bands when the time comes, and I'm not exactly sure who pays for what. Help!?
