Yes, you pay for his wedding ring. You usually purchase these about 6 months before the wedding so you can make sure they are sized correctly. You may want to think about the matching wedding band when you get your engagement ring. Some people just go ahead and buy the set at the same time.

It is tradition for the girl to buy the guys wedding band, but for my husband and I it didn't really matter who bought what. We figured that by the time we were engaged and at the point of buying wedding bands that his money was my money and vice versa. When we had been engagement ring shopping my husband had taken out a store credit card at the one jewerly store so we could get 12 months no interest, so when we bought our wedding bands we just put them on the same card and that just extended our no interest time period. So I think that we both just ended up paying for our rings.

No hard fast rules. Traditionally the man brought both, and obviously needed to propose with the ring for the woman. So in a way it is a requisite that the man buys the ring - or how the hell is he going to propose to you? But you could propose to him - that might work. Or you could both go and get the rings together and then propose to each other at the same time - personally I like this idea because I would probaly fall around laughing - of course I would say yes, but that could be real fun!!

LOL! OMG! I had to ask my friends and family this exact question!! and I was completely humiliated because I thought I was the only person who didn't know it. Naturally I went to my fiance first, and he had no idea either!! Anyways, the feedback I got was that the groom buys all the rings. However, its not a stone set rule. You can do it however you like to. Personally I think theres something sweet about each of you getting the ring for the other. Good luck.

He buys the engagement ring. You buy the wedding bands together. They have to match, and you just decide who's going to pay for it! Good luck and God Bless!

Don't worry, you're not an idiot. But traditionally the bride-to-be pays for the groom's wedding band. Nice ones really aren't all that expensive, so we get the good end of the deal! :-)
