other than the bride, groom, pastor and 2 witnesses you don't have to have anybody else even at your wedding however the following is a list of people you can have
honor attendant(s)
bridesmaid(s)
flower girl(s)
best man
groomsmen and/or ushers
soloist(s)
musicians (organ, piano, guitar, harpist, violinist etc...)
wedding director
*scripture readers (friends/famiy members)
*acolytes
*photographer
*videographer
*person to hand out programs
*guest book attendant
*sound/light board operator

*these people aren't necessary but most people have some or all of them.

Are you looking for specific "jobs" for friends/family to do so they will feel a part of your special day or just asking about weddings in general in the Methodist church

Ah, the favorite of all marriage ceremonies, because it's only 15 minutes long.
It's the traditional. The minister asks who gives this woman to be married, and both parents stand up, sometimes the whole family.
Sometimes a family member pays tribute or something by singing or saying a poem, but sometimes that doesn't happen.
Methodist wedding ceremonies are the ones they use for movies, because they're short and to the point.
You might have a ring bearer, but usually all the people you listed are the only ones in a methodist wedding

What do you mean "involved"? Bridesmaids and Groomsmen aren't mandatory. But usually you would have the mothers do some sort of lighting of the family candle.

Methodists churches usually have a wedding coordinator who sets things up and keeps track of what the church owns, verse what the bride's family brings in. She is in charge of the rehearsal. Most mandate a organist. And of course you left out the pastor and the bride and groom--which are in fact that only mandatory "involved" people.

Find one other church and/or officiant. The Catholic church does no longer appreciate marriages played from one other church. The handiest manner a Catholic can get divorced is with permission. And the one manner they may be able to get remarried is with permission. But in case your fiance is not a practising Catholic & he does not care somehow, then you definately must be capable to discover a minister to marry you. I do not realise what is up with this Methodist one. I'm a nondenominational minister. I do interfaith marriages as good as christian & civil ceremonies. To discover an officiant, form into Yahoo your town, state & marriage ceremony officiant (no 's' at the finish) You may have a few to pick from, almost always at the moment web page because the greater bridal website look to get most sensible billing. If you do cross to a bridal website & see any one you would like, seek advice from their website. Those bridal web sites manke providers & officiants pay to your touch data so you can also no longer continuously listen again from a few.

You can have more or less than that if you want. You can have candle lighters, ring bearer, singer, other musicians, parents, brother or sister or friend to read special scripture, etc. Or you can cut it down to bride, groom, minister & witnesses. You have a lot of choice. Visit with a minister about it.

As a Methodist, you will have to do some counselling sessions before the minister will marry you. It's a good thing.

Sure. There could be the musician(s), wedding coordinator if the church or family provides one, custodian, candle lighters, etc. - not to mention the clergy. The UMW may wish to do the reception if it's at church. Hope this helps. MS.
