I am dating the best man ever, and he already asked to be my husband, and I said yes. BUT, he wants the marriage to be held in 1 month, but i want it in May. No matter what I say, he says he thinks its best in September. But I dont want to marry then. Im just not prepared right now!

I will be getting married soon and I'm trying to find a song for my mother-son dance. My fiance's song with her dad is one where the singer sings about a daughter ("Baby Girl" by Will Hoge). To keep with the idea of the parent singing to the child, I was wondering if anyone knew of any songs where the singer sings about her son. But I'm looking for something uncommon, original. Not something you would see on a sample list from a DJ.
Thanks!

Our wedding is in 2 months and we have already spent $24,000. We owe about $12,000 still. I don't feel like we are having an extremely elaborate wedding or anything but I just can't believe how the cost has gone so high. I am feeling really ridiculous about blowing so much money on one day. Too late now.

How much did you spend? Is this average?

I'm getting married this saturday to my hunny of 7 years. He is LDS but not practicing and my family isn't at all. We are getting married by the bishop and he said we can't do a ring ceremony and my family was really hurt. We worked it out to were before the ceremony we can do a ring ceremony but we can't say anything like with this ring I thee wed. WHICH IS DUMB! I hate the whole idea but I really want to have the rings exchanged! What should I say i'm thinking about this short poem but want to add more:

Will Love You Forever
by Amanda Nicole Martinez

I love you so deeply,
I love you so much,
I love the sound of your voice
And the way that we touch.
I love your warm smile
And your kind, thoughtful way,
The joy that you bring
To my life every day.
I love you today
As I have from the start,
And I'll love you forever
With all of my heart.

I don't know how to word it cause the ceremony wouldn't have even start. Ahhh so STRESSED! Damn the LDS church and their stupid rules.

Please state if you are a guy or a girl.
Also I'm not necessarily looking for a round number, but maybe a percentage of income or other way to relatively create a budget.

Thanks everyone!

I want to ask my best friend to be my Maid Of Honor in a fun and creative way and tie it into the wedding theme, which is Cinco de Mayo or a fiesta.

Thank you!

I am thinking sage green as my main color with accents of another. For centerpieces I was thinking chandelier candelabras, but I need ideas. Can you help me? Anything from traditional to very nontraditional is open for my fiance and I!

I was thinking about having my fiancee wearing ivory with ivory vest and the groomsmen wearing black suit with peridiot vest. Is this something I can get away with or all men must wear the same color suit?

MY fiancee proposed to me and we are engaged we have been since christmas...however...
I was wondering I don't feel like he put alot of thought into the ring or the proposal.

I feel like yeah he wanted to marry me however did he really try to make it romantic or sweet. What does his effort show?
mY RING IS white gold with a marquis cut diamond in the middle with 3 small diamonds on the side. i asked my fiancee if they were diamonds he said he didnt know asked if they it was gold he said he didnt know. I told him I needed to know for cleaning the ring...so I know it is because he is shy about..what DO YOU THINK?

MY QUESTION IS:

SHOULD I WONDER ABOUT THIS AND SHOULD I ASK HIM
SHOULD I BE FEELING LIKE THIS

AM I SELFISH FOR THINKING THIS WAY.

I am debating whether or not to invite one of my old friends. She was my best friend from Kindergarten through most of high school. She was the one that introduced my now fiance and I. Our friendship has declined over the last few years as I don't agree with the people she hangs around with and the amount of alcohol she consumes. The last time I visited her she invited all of her drunken friends and got drunk herself and wanted to drive me home intoxicated. (She has gotten a DUI btw) I feel as if I have an obligation to invite her because of our past and the fact that she got my fiance and I together. My fiance, my parents and my bridesmaids are not too keen on her being there. If I do invite her I know she will be upset because of the fact that I didn't even make her a bridesmaid. I am afraid of her bringing one of her awful friends even I tell her that she can't. If I don't invite her at all then I will most likely lose her friendship. Thoughts and Opinions on this?

Do you see it as a unity of two people that love one another or just a piece of paper?

What do you think of people that just see marriage as a peice of paper? Bitter, resentful

Reason why I ask is because I am getting married and some know it all at work said 'I just see marriage as a piece of paper'

This is coming from a girl that is 22 and she has a mortgage with her 21 year old b/f... also this is the guy she lost her virginity to.

I also asked why she thinks this, she would not answer, however, I think it is because her b/f has never asked her.

There is a girl I work with, she has a cousin getting married at the end of the week,

the girl is a singer and she is going to charge her cousin for singing at the wedding.

I think it is terrible, what do you think?

This is the same girl that asked me to pay her if she was going to sing at mine.

I am from the south and I assume that maybe this dance at a wedding is a local thing. Most all of the weddings I have ever been to has them and my finance wants to have one yet I feel a little tacky doing it. I feel like its saying "hi bring us a gift and while you at is give us some money"

What are your thoughts on it???

I have an aunt and uncle and their two daughters that neither me nor my family is very close to. Is there any way I cannot invite them or some way I can seat them away from my immediate family b/c the family i speak of is rude and will be asking prices of everything and i dont want them to ruin the experience for my mom and dad. we share a grandmother so i dont know how this would work out... i jsut dont picture them as a part of my special day - me and my family really dont like them cuz they are rude and loud and selfish.... what is a good compromise?

I am throwing a bridal shower. The groom's aunt is a lesbian -- both she and her partner are invited to the wedding. Do I invite both of them to the shower? I would think "yes", but I just wanted to know what other people think...

Because my fiance and I, as well as a large portion of the guests, are vegetarian, is it ok to have a strictly vegetarian lunch buffet at our reception? To me, this idea seems no different from non-drinkers not wanting to have alcohol at a reception. If the food is good and not too adventuresome or too spicy, people should be fine, right?

He and I are vegetarian for ethical reasons, and many of his family members are vegetarian for religious (hindu) reasons. My family will eat just about anything, so I'm not too worried about them!

Additional note: This question is not intended to start a debate about the merits of vegetarianism. I'm just asking a question about hosting etiquitte. :-)

Hi! I need some help here...I have a very specific style of dress that I want to wear for my Catholic wedding, and I need to know if it's OK.

My dress will be a V-neck sleeveless mermaid style dress (fitted from chest to lower thighs with a flare/train at bottom). I have an hourglass figure, like my curves, and don't want to wear a shapeless A-line or ballgown that covers everything up. I am petitie and curvy, so I don't want my dress to be wearing me!

That said, I need to know if I can "get away" with wearing this kind of dress for the ceremony. I am considering having a lace formal jacket made if need be as a cover.

My priest seems pretty laid back and says he doesn't know anything about fashion or lay down specific rules for brides, so he wasn't much help. I don't think he's that strict, but I would hate to get my dress and not be able to wear it. Yikes! I am concerned because not many brides wear the style of dress that I want.
