Hi,
Me and my fiance are planning on getting married in a year or so and I was just thinking about what sort of dress I should wear. I'm not normally into wearing dresses but obviously I want to wear something special on my big day. I am a bit insecure about my arms and would like some kind of sleeves, but don't want to look frumpy... suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It's not that I am modest, I don't mind showing anything else (obviously within reason) it's just my arms...

It's also not the size of my arms which I'm concerned about, I don't consider myself overweight, it's because I have very pale skin... I know I could go to a tanning booth but would rather get a dress which conceals it!

I'm not sure what part of your arms you are worried about, so I put in some suggestions that are full sleeves, cap sleeves and a bit extra. If you are worried about the forarms you could just wear gloves.

Remember almost any strapless dress can have cap sleeve or illusion sleeves made for it so don't limit yourself to those that have them built in.
Hope that helped

One thing I looked into is--a strapless dress and then bell sleeves that slide up on your arm (similar to the garter). So it's tight on the bicep but still has your shoulders bare.
There is also a style of having the sleeves added later on like this

It still shows skin and neckline.
You can get the sleeves with a real sheer like this

or a little more opaque. It's completely up to you.
Of course you could also do short sleeves. Personally I think the short sleeves look frumpy and draw attention to that flabby bicep area which is probably the part you want to cover up.
Hope this gives you some ideas.
But if your biggest concern is being too pale--dont do diamond white. Wear chapagne or light gold. It will make your skin glisten. There are tons of sunless tanning sprays though if you are still self-conscious about it. Down here places do that airspray booths for only about $25-30. So it's really not that expensive.

Just go to all the bridal sites and look for a wedding gown with a cap sleeve. netbride.com, weddingretailer.com, houseofbrides.com, gownfind.com, thebridalshop.com, moncheribridals.com, bestbridalprices.com, theeveningstore.com, wholesaleweddinggowns.com. I would look at the styles, and go to your local bridal store, because you will need alterations so it is best not to buy online. If you find a gown at a bridal store that is strapless, the dressmaker can make cap sleeves or a tulle style or lace style shrug look, so don't worry about that. I would not get a long sleeve, as that is a really dated look. Good Luck to you and you will certainly not look frumpy not with all the choices available.

There are some dresses with sleeves and some with little crop sleeves you wont know if you like either of these until you try them on. i would go start trying an assortment of them on now. Take a couple really good friends with you and a camera so you can get there input and also see what you look like you may also find that a wrap is the best option for you

Pick out a dress you like and have a tailor add sleeves. David's Bridal offers this service, but the sleeves they add are lacy and see-through. I thought the sleeves looked beautiful on the website- not frumpy at all.

i am the same way about my arms and am getting married in about a year, but what i am doing is i am going to be lifting weights! start with 5 lb. dumb bells and work your way up to 12, you don't want to be bulky, just tone. it will take no time at all to get your arms tone, then you can wear the dress of your dreams without having to worry about how you look!
