How I feel for you! This is a very difficult and traumatic situation for you. It sounds like the father is trying to get your son whenever it's convenient for him, without regard to your schedule while you try to work and take care of a baby, and much less regard for what's best for your son. You REALLY need a good lawyer to defend you and guide you. I hope you can afford one. They know what's acceptable and what's not, and how to fight for your rights. If you can't afford a good lawyer, then at least you need to take a more proactive stance and explain to the court what's best for your son. They may have some general ideas, but only YOU know your son and what he needs. I'm confident you can explain why what the father wants is not reasonable in this situation. If you work, it's hard if not impossible to find child care that will take your son when his father cannot watch him, and let him go when he can (they usually want to charge you if you miss days like that). Why can't the father have visits with him on weekends? Also, since you breastfeed and this needs to be done fairly frequently, you need to tell the court why an overnight stay is not good for the baby. If you find other CA agreements, they are not going to be relevant to your case, because your judge or mediator will already have ideas based on his or her experience, and your situation, as well as the father's, are unique to every other parental situation in the state. Of course the court is going to want the baby to have time with both parents, unless there is reason to prevent that, such as physical or chemical abuse. I think the norm is for the child custody to stay with the mother, and with visits with the father on alternate weekends (staying over night). A stayover is not best for a breastfed baby. But there are SO many variations on this pattern. Think long and hard about how to communicate to the court what you have explained perfectly here in Yahoo Answers. God bless you!

Once they get teeth.... it's time to take the breast away. I would say maybe one year.. most children are on REGULAR milk by that age.. mine were lol. 5 and a half years, wow. She may be a good mom, and i'm not saying she isn't.. but yeah, that's just too long.

People are all different, and I've seen programmes where people feed their children up til they are teens, but personally I think it is not right, they should come off the breast when they are old enough to eat solid foods.

Seems a bit strange. But since it's a private thing with em, I guess they are the ones to judge when is too long.
Guess it really can't hurt nothin, but I wouldn't want my gf doin it to my kid that long.

Weird. I think she should have stopped 4 1/2 years ago. If you child is old enough to ask for it, he's too old to be doing it.

I agree, it is yukky. I breast fed all of my kids but it got to an age where it just felt yukky so I stopped. I find it really gross when they do it over about 11 months....and when the kid comes up and helps themselves....eeeewwwwwwww.
What this has to do with weddings i dont know but yuk anyways....that youtube this is just gross...blerk.
