It's our 4th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY tomorrow. We're both in our mid-twenties. We're having a really simple outing together, and just spending quality time together. So, what can I buy my husband for $40 or under besides a card?

I'm tight on budget because I'm not working right now. Plus, it enhances creativity this way. Any ideas will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you. :)

Make a album using pictures that you have taken throughout the years that you have been together. This will have more meaning than anything that you could buy for $40.00, use the money on a lavish dinner to treat the both of you

1. Massage Oils.
2. Magazines on his favorite hobby.
3. Desk assessories for his office (talking picture frame, coffee cup warmer, etc.)
4. A really great bottle of wine if you both like that.
5. CD's and a case for his car/truck.
6. Does he use the grill? Grill tools, apron, mitt, etc.
7. Does he work out regularly? Gym gloves, small exercise equipment he can use at home.
8. Does he garden? There is a huge list on that subject.
9. Is he the type of guy who works on engines (mechanical), go to an AutoZone or some place like it and find all types of things.
10. Does he like woodworking? Router bits he doesn't have.

Hope these are helpful.

If you have to find nice ideas for woodworking i can suggest you to check here http://woodworking.toptips.org
It's perfect if you are just starting out or if you're a seasoned carpenter. you will like it for sure !
It has almost 20.000 woodworking plans and you have a CAD/DWG software to view and edit the plans. You have step-by-step instructions with photos and high quality blueprints and schematics. If you are a beginner this is the easiest way to start your woodworking projects, and if you already have experience you can anyway find a lot of interesting ideas!

Go to an antique store, look for those nifty things that remind you of your husband? Like, mine loves the Joe Camel Poker stuff (Camel Smokes) He had been really down about the idea that Camel stopped their promo items and was wishing on the Joe Camel poker set. So i set out looking, the first antique store i hit i found them in mint condition and they were only $7!! He also loves motorcycles and the antique store had those old 50's-ish type signs i found some nifty motorcycle signs.. great for him to decorate his "workspace" in the garage. Over all i spent around $25 at this place and it was more than enough for a birthday..

obviously something romantic or sexy

For the sexy thing, if he and you are in to it, whatever clothes you think will be right

For romantifc stuff here are some ideas:

1. Buy a card with a nice poem on it saying "i love you with more love than i have for anything else in the world, and with the endurance of a thousand cross country runners". weird metaphor, but you get my point. And to go along with it, dancing lessons and a romantic cd....or his fav meal and some calming candles

2. Depending on where you live, take him to the top of a mountain, or at a lake during sun set/sun rise, with some simple foods to eat and just renew your love with each other

3. i just realized i'm probably too late...but you can always get him a new, cheap ring with your names engraved in it

I did this for our first anniversary, but it could work for you too. I made him a list of 365 things I loved about him... one for each day we had been married (you could say one for every day of the past year). I had it typed up all nice and neat and beautiful paper and then I had it bond. It didn't cost very much, but he LOVED it. I also made a romantic night at home for the two of us... candle light, his favorite food, a bubble bath for two, and a full body massage! He had a ball being pampered and asked me a couple of days later if we could recreate that night. Good luck and best wishes.

My husband and I have been together for 10 years now, and some of the things that have meant the most have been the "simple" things.

For example, once I took the poem "How Do I Love Thee?" and did a breakup, verse by verse... hard to explain, but I just took each verse and re-stated it in words that spoke of US and OUR relationship. It's hanging on a wall in his den in a frame. :) If you like, I can try to sneak in and take a photo of it later.

It's the SIMPLE stuff... the silly cards, the paper flower that he gave me for our first anniversary (when we were SO DAMN BROKE it was tragic)... THOSE are the things you're going to treasure.

Happy anniversary.
