I am a man and have to attend the wedding of one of my close freinds. I am in doubts about what are things i should prepare? Shall i go for a hair cut? Shall i buy a new perfume? Shall i look for new suit?

What would have you done?

My friend asked me to be a bridesmaid in his wedding. I am not a big fan of the bride but the groom is one of my best friends so I said yes. I went and spent $140 (I know it could have been worse) and joined a weight loss program because the wedding was in 5 months! They have now canceled the wedding and are going to Florida to get married! Should I ask for my money back from them?

I think it is incredibly rude not to RSVP. Especially when you are provided with a postage paid envelope... even if you are NOT going, just send in the darn card! It will take about ten seconds out of your life to write "0" or whatever on the card and put it in your mailbox and let your mail man pick it up.

I receive less than HALF of my responses back. They were due Saturday. I am hoping that many of them will show up in the next couple days, but sheesh! A (rude) part of me wants to do assigned seating. If you didn't respond, then you don't have a seat! Sorry!

It's one thing to allow for a handful of non-responses, but over half the guest list!?!?

Now we have to get a group of people together to start making phone calls!

I don't even have a dad to walk down the aisle with, & my brothers hate me. I don't even have anybody to have any bridesmaids. I have only 1 friend who could be the Maid of Honor.

Is there any way I can have a private wedding with the priest marrying me & my husband, & I just have a big reception?

I don't know anything about weddings, & I'm 23 yrs. old. I feel embarrassed. I only went to 1 wedding in my life, & I feel ashamed to not know what goes on during weddings. Basically, I don't know anything about weddings.

I'm looking for a wedding dress that costs between $600-$1000. Please...No David's Bridal.

Did anyone have a dress in this price range? What was the exact cost? What designer was it? Do you have a picture of it?

Also, how much did you pay for alterations and your bridal accessories?

a sunday brunch for out-of-towners the day after the wedding instead of inviting them all to the rehearsal. My future father-in-law is cooking for the rehearsal dinner and I dont want him to have to cook for 50 people (as most of our guests are from out of town). I would rather keep the rehearsal to just the bridal party and immediate family.

Originally I was going to, because I was keeping the honeymoon a secret for the reception. Now that my fiance knows about it, should I still do a toast at our reception? If so, what kind of advice for the format?

My friend and her fiancee have decided that there shall be no naked men nor women at their parties. I have to keep the bride pure and faithful in every way that she has been before the wedding. This bride is not a big partier or drinker.

Whats left to do?

The bride is already getting her bridesmaids a day at the spa as a wedding gift.. So We cant lug her off to a spa.. Any suggestions?

Also, this is a very small bridal party. Perhaps 5 people. maybe a couple more.

So what is there for a very small bridal party to do that is tame but fun?

My fiance is an only child, so he's his mother "baby"...but he's 21 has been on his own for 2 years now. He proposed and we've set a date for next June. We planned on paying for this wedding ourselves, since we both have nice jobs and some savings. She just recently popped up and told us that she was giving us 5k for the wedding. I KNOW that this is only so she can have her say in things, and so she can outshine my parents, it's always been a competition. She's upset because my mom is helping me plan some things. She's told me that she's jealous of me and my mom's relationship, and sad that she never had a daughter to do things with. I've asked for her opinion and help on lots of things for the wedding, but she tries to take over and throws a fit when she doesn't get her way. It's very generous that she's trying to give us money, but we both know she can't afford this. How do we nicely decline it without starting a war, or would it be better to just accept it and grit our teeth?

It will be a low-key, short (2-3 hour?) affair, maybe 50 people. I'm thinking a "dessert only" or "cocktails/fingerfood" reception immediatly following the ceremony...so maybe a very pretty church with an interesting outside area? Or a garden...museum..or lake venue? Cost is def. a consideration. Thanks all!!!!

We are having a candy buffet at our wedding and I am looking for cute personalized bags for the guests to fill with candy. I am having a hard time finding a good size. They are either too small (will only hold a few pieces) or too large (this would deplete our supply too quick).

Can anyone reccommend a good size or something that they have used? Thanks :)

The bride would be carrying a cascading bouquet that has a mixture of daises, calla lillies, jasmine, and with a little greens.

And the bridesmaids are carrying hand held with iris, daises and roses.

The bride doesnt want it to over power her because she is 5'3.
Please help, serious answers please.
