My fiance and I had made plans for a big, traditional wedding this fall. Two of my bridesmaids and I are no longer friends and the other one is too sick with her pregnancy to be in the wedding. His groomsmen all live out of town, and it has become a hassle to get them to do anything. A lot of our guests live out of town also, and so we really are not too sure if anyone will or can show up to the event. I am disappointed because I feel that it would be a waste to go all out with the planning if no one is there to see it. What suggestions do you have that me and my fiance could do for a wedding. I don't mind if it is small, but I want it to be beautiful. Location, reception ideas, decorations????????

We're in talks about the wedding, but in the back of my mind I do not want this person to come at all. Over the past 3 years she has been nothing but rude to me and that is putting it nicely. She makes my future husband's and my life a living hell. Normally this would be an easy answer, but she happens to be the bestman's girlfriend. Hopefully they will break up before than, but you never know. I know the easy way out would to just invite her and ignore her, but dealing with the spawn of the devil isn't that easy.
Chances are in favor of her causing some sort of drama or some how drawing the attention away from me and onto herself... pretty much ruining my day and making it a waste of time and money.

Suggestions and comments are all welcomed.

My best friend is getting married on Sat. It is to be small and they have indicated no gifts. They have both been married before. I don't feel right not getting something to commemorate the day so would like something subtle but unique. Would really appreciate some ideas that you have used yourself in these circumstances.

My favorite color is pink and my mom's favorite color is burgundy. My fiance and my mother are practically paying for everything, so the least I could do is incorporate her favorite color into our wedding theme. But, one of my bridesmaids mentioned that burgundy is too deep a color to be used for my wedding. I don't think there is anything wrong with it though. So, I need opinions. My wedding date is March 08, 2008. Its not EXACTLY spring yet, but it isn't winter either. Comments??

previously I asked a question about how to handle the inevitable stress with my step father and father in the same room when my fiance and I get married. I have decided to NOT have my step-father there...here's the problem...

I am very non-confrontational...this WILL be a confrontation. He will be angry and his anger will make ME angry

(long story short- my mom passed 5 yrs ago and had left me a sizable amount of money- my step dad needed money- in a lapse of judgement I allowed him control- with the promise he would assist me in my debt once his was cleared- he does not feel I should have any of the money- which he has actually spent all of. He quit his job and has been driving around the country aimlessly)

I maintained a relationship with him out of respect for my mother and because my son loves his grampa...

obviously, this will be a defining moment when I ask him to not attend my wedding...any suggestions on how to do this?

I am considering creating a wedding gown similar to the one shown on the following page.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/43853125@N00/sets/72157594293585553/show/
I love this gown, I find it dramatic, elegant, memorable, classic. I love that it has part of the gown black. However, while I may be more offbeat, my husband to be is from a more conservative family. I would hate to offend my boyfriend and his family. I think that black is a very misunderstood colour. Black is a sign of strength and fertility.
The thing that I also love about this gown is that if somebody doesn't love the black part as I do, they can just take pictures from the WAIST UP!!

Thanks for your help and comments!!!

And also, should I decide to goo with this gown, should I warn my boyfriend that my dress is "white and another colour?" I would hate to see him look disapointed or shocked (in a bad way) at the end of the aisle...

thanks again for your help!!

My boyfriend and I are newly engaged, and he did a FANTASTIC job with the ring. It's just perfect, and I love having something to see, that represents our commitment.

But what about him? I would love to give him something that serves as a reminder of how much I love him. And of my devotion. He wouldn't wear a ring...maybe another piece of jewelry?

Guys out there -- what would you like? Girl -- ever given something to your fiance? I appreciate the advice!!

My sister is also getting married and my parents think it would be easier to do them both at once since they are paying for them. I want it to be my day. Is that selfish? What should I do?

I'm 31 and have wanted to have a family for about 5 years now. No one has seemed to worked out. I've looked at myself, made positive changes, dated several men, I work out, have a good job, have my own friends etc. so I consider myself stable and a good catch. I've been dating my current BF for 3 yrs now..I feel like it's been too long to go without a proposal. And not to mention everyone I know has gotten engaged or married and it hurts so bad. There's a wedding coming up that we are supposed to go to together and he's a groomsman...I can't bear the thought of going to this wedding. I'll fall apart and will embarras myself. I mean I could go and try to keep it together but I know when I see the other bride walk down the isle..OMG I can't even think about it.
Anyone felt this way? Please nice responses only....

... the best man and maid of honor have sex? Even if one or both are attached to others?

I have two kids, 10 year old boy and 12 year old daughter. The boy is easy, I will get him a suit. The daughter I am a little unsure of.

Obviously a dress would be appropriate, but what color, type etc. She is not in the "bridle party". So I don't need to match it?

At first, I though a white dress, but then I was thinking that is reserved for the bride.

I am divorced so I can't push this off on the wife.

So my family doesn't have a ton of money and I don't either! I was just thinking about this the other day though because I will probably marry my boyfriend in this next year or at least get engaged in this next year. Where do you come up with all the money though if I don't really have much to save and my parents don't have tons of money? Do you get a loan or what? I mean I don't want a big extravagent wedding. Really just close family and friends. But still it WILL cost some money and I don't know where we would get it from so I just wanted to know what others did becaus I KNOW not everyone has money to throw around with out saving for years!
